Really? John Kirby denies allegations of ‘wokeness’ in military, says it’s completely ‘bogus’

There may be reasons that the United States Army is facing a recruitment shortage, but according to the National Security Council Coordinator of Strategic Communications John Kirby, it has nothing to do with “woke” policies, and any suggestion that it does is “bogus.”

Kirby joined NewsNation host and Mediaite founder Dan Abrams on Wednesday and, despite a mountain of evidence to the contrary, claimed, “There’s no wokeness in the military.”

Abrams framed his line of questioning as though he were asking Kirby to comment on a conspiracy theory instead of a recent concerted effort by branches of the U.S. military to push “inclusive” policies.

“Some on the right have suggested that it’s the administration’s policies, right?” Abrams said. “It’s the requirement of the vaccine, it’s the ‘woke policies’ in the military that’s leading less people to want to join.”

“What do you make of that?” he asked Kirby.

“There’s no indication of that,” Kirby replied. “First of all, it’s a bogus claim. There’s no wokeness in the military.”

Either Kirby is straight-up lying or someone forgot to tell the Navy, which released for Pride Month a video explaining how sailers deal with pronouns.

As Donald Trump, Jr., put it in August, “I have friends on SEAL teams that tell me they spend more time now in diversity training than they do shooting.”

But according to Kirby, diversity is what makes the military “stronger.”

“The military is — and it should be — a diverse organization,” he stated. “We’re supposed to represent and defend all Americans and our diversity.”

“I’ve seen this myself, firsthand, aboard ships at sea,” he continued. “The diversity of the United States Military makes us stronger, makes us smarter, helps us make better decisions.”

“There’s no wokeness,” he insisted. “They’re driving a stake through a straw man, and we’ve seen no indications that culture concerns like that are having an impact on recruiting.”

Well, whoever forgot to tell the Navy there’s “no wokeness” in the military also forgot to let the Air Force know.

As BizPac Review reported on Thursday, the Air Force Academy in Colorado made up a slide show and everything.

In a presentation titled, “Diversity & Inclusion: What it is, why we care, & what we can do,” cadets were instructed to drop the use of words like “mom” and “dad” and opt instead for words that “include all genders.”

Young recruits are told they should use “person-centered” and gender-neutral language to avoid anything that might be construed as less than inclusive.

“Some families are headed by single parents, grandparents, foster parents, two moms, two dads, etc.: consider ‘parent or caregiver’ instead of ‘mom and dad,'” the presentation urged cadets.

Rep. Mike Waltz (R-Fla.) — a former Army Green Beret — blasted the policy on Fox News for appearing to create “a seperate, parallel chain of command.”

“Not only do they have diversity and equity officers in the cadet chain of command, they wear a special insignia, which is exactly what the political commissars — they would wear an armband in both the Soviet army and now in the Chinese Communist military,” he stated. “I just think there are some really alarming parallels.”

Far from being nonexistent, the level of wokeness in the military is “out of control,” warns Waltz.

“We WILL ban this nonsense when we take back the House,” he vowed on Twitter.

“Last year we discovered West Point was holding a seminar to teach students about ‘Understanding Whiteness and White Rage,'” he stated. “Now we have deputized Soviet-style D&I personnel at the Air Force Academy who can go around the chain of command.”
