Romanian-born trucker beaten by police: ‘They broke my body’ not my spirit

Csaba Vizi, a Romanian-born Canadian truck driver who took part in the anti-mandate protests, took to Tucker Carlson Tonight to detail what happened to him at the hands of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s police force.

After fleeing communism and finding safe harbor in Canada, Vizi experienced what could arguably be called police brutality after he peacefully surrendered to the police, and was reportedly kneed repeatedly in the body as several officers were on top of him. Video of the incident was shared on social media, shocking and horrifying those who are in support of the protests.

“So they dragged me in, they lied me down on my belly, and I don’t – I don’t remember how many were on top of me,” Vizi explained. “They were squeezing me slowly, slowly. I felt like I was beaten, but I took it like a man.”

“They broke my body a little bit, but not my spirit.”

Carlson asked the driver if he was attempting to resist the police in any way, to which Vizi responded that he had not.

“I get down from my truck, I went down, right on my knee, I put my hands behind my head, and I was waiting for them to take me away,” he said. That was when the brutal arrest occurred.

This is a far cry from the Canada he has grown to love, Vizi contends.

“I moved to Canada – everything was wonderful. People talk to you in the street, without knowing you – asking you hey, how are you? I had never experienced stuff like that before,” he noted. However, since the onset of the pandemic and all of the political rhetoric that it has birthed, Vizi acknowledged that it is becoming “impossible” to live in the country.

“I can say that the last two years – it’s impossible to live here anymore.”

Ottawa police apprehended north of 170 people on Friday and Saturday for taking part in the protest.

As American Wire previously reported, Trudeau pushed to have the emergency powers extended, citing “real concerns about the coming days” that would justify their continued use.
