Romney, Murkowski, Collins vote yes, praise KBJ as a person of honor. ‘Make them pay,’ says Don Jr.

Middling Republican Sens. Mitt Romney (UT), Lisa Murkowski (AK) and Susan Collins (ME) were once again slammed as “pro-pedophile” RINOs (Republican In Name Only) for their approval of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson for her “standard of excellence and integrity” after the Senate Judiciary Committee raised concerns of her activist ties and lenient sentencing regarding child sex abuse cases.

Prior to the deadlock in committee Monday that requires a motion to discharge for Jackson’s confirmation to move to a Senate vote, questions remained as to whether the three senators would buck party trends on the highly partisan nomination. Statements from each have proven once again that they remain out of sync with Republican values and solely interested in self-aggrandizement.

Romney was the last to announce his affirmative vote in a tweet Monday night writing, “After reviewing Judge Jackson’s record and testimony, I have concluded that she is a well-qualified jurist and a person of honor.”

“While I do not expect to agree with every decision she may make on the Court, I believe that she more than meets the standard of excellence and integrity,” he added with congratulations.

Romney and Collins had both insisted that they needed further consideration after the hearing, calling for a “deeper dive” into her record. While Collins was quick to make her decision last week, Romney had held out until after even Murkowski had released a statement.

“My support rests on Judge Jackson’s qualifications, which no one questions; her demonstrated judicial independence; her demeanor and temperament; and the important perspective she would bring to the court as a replacement for Justice Breyer,” the Alaskan lawmaker wrote in part.

“It also rests on my rejection of the corrosive politicization of the review process for Supreme Court nominees,” she continued, “which, on both sides of the aisle, is growing worse and more detached from reality by the year.”

Despite their self-righteous attitudes on the matter, the fact remains that these senators are not without hypocrisy and guilty of their own kind of politicization of President Joe Biden’s SCOTUS pick.

For example, Murkowski opposed the nomination of Justice Brett Kavanaugh and Collins voted against the appointment of Justice Amy Coney Barrett. Both fulfilled the unquestionable standards that they attest Jackson meets, but saw to their own political posturing over meeting the desires of their constituents.

However, the worst offender in this case remains Romney. He had already voted against Jackson a year ago for her appointment to the appellate court. Claiming now, “she’s gone into much more depth talking about her judicial philosophy,” and adding in her record as an appellate judge, Romney tried to deflect from his consideration.

These facts don’t sit well with conservatives and prominent figures on the right did well to highlight the opinion held by many that Romney is a disgrace.

“The only new info since he voted against her a few months ago was increased awareness of her “soft-on-pedos” approach,” Mollie Hemingway from the Federalist wrote, “which makes this new Romney position super interesting.”

Retired Green Beret Joe Kent running for Congress in Washington tweeted, “Romney wants a pedophile apologist in the supreme court, your kids fighting WW3 & masks on our faces. He is our enemy.”

“The Left has dedicated itself to the use of the Supreme Court as a tool for its social justice agenda for decades,” Daily Wire editor Ben Shapiro stated, “so this is unacceptable stupidity.”

Shapiro is right and others made clear that the only solution for a RINO problem is to vote them out of office.
