Governor Ron DeSantis’ “Never Back Down” super PAC has announced that it will cease door-knocking operations in four key primary states despite the conservative candidate trailing former President Trump in polls.
The PAC has put an end to door-knocking operations in Nevada, California, North Carolina, and Texas officials confirmed on Wednesday, according to NBC News.
Despite the media spinning the situation as the DeSantis campaign running out of funds, it reportedly is still sitting on a $100 million war chest. It appears that his team has decided to target other states in its campaign strategy. Campaigning has not been abandoned in those states. The door-knocking has shifted to others because the primary tactics in at least Nevada and California are allegedly being skewed in favor of Trump.
Nevada is a delegate-rich early primary state that could easily flip red and is scheduled to come up third on the GOP calendar. California, North Carolina, and Texas also hold a huge number of delegates to be awarded on Super Tuesday.
DeSantis did very well in the first GOP primary debate but his team has struggled with messaging over the last few months. Because of the Florida governor’s massive success in his state, he has been relentlessly attacked not only by Leftists but by Trump supporters.
Efforts by “Never Back Down” have seemingly focused on rallies at the Iowa State Fair and other venues where the governor can campaign to early primary voters.
There have been a number of shakeups concerning the DeSantis team as it has sought to streamline its efforts during the campaign. All of that has been seized upon by the Left.
According to NBC News, the PAC “employed more than 250 field staffers” in Nevada, California, North Carolina, and Texas. Some of those people will be redeployed back to Iowa, New Hampshire, or South Carolina.
Erin Perrine, a “Never Back Down” PAC spokeswoman, stated, “We want to reinvest in the first three,” referring to Iowa, South Carolina, and New Hampshire. “We see real opportunities in the first three. The first three are going to set the conditions for the March states.”
“What’s more, super PAC officials said the decisions to pull out of Nevada and California were driven by what they see as pro-Trump efforts to tilt the primary rules in his favor and make it less likely that a rival could knock him off,” NBC News reported.

The latest Real Clear Politics polling shows that Trump has a 26-point advantage in Iowa, a 30.7-point advantage in South Carolina, and a 31-point advantage in New Hampshire. Trump is far and away leading the Republican pack at this point in the game.
The PAC’s chief operating officer, Kristin Davison, contends that the campaign will resume efforts in the four Super Tuesday states at some future date.
“We’ll go back closer to the March primary states’ dates,” she asserted. “After the New Year, we’ll probably start building them out again.”
Despite all the doom and gloom concerning DeSantis coming from leftists on social media and in mainstream media, the GOP contender is still in second place for the nomination and extremely popular.
He narrowly beat Trump recently in a straw poll that was conducted by the Young Republicans, infuriating Trump supporters.

“Straw Poll Results Are In! YRs across the country participated in a straw poll at YRNC Dallas. And it’s clear that YRs are divided between two contenders. Ron DeSantis comes in with 36.6% of the support, closely followed by Donald Trump at 35.4%,” the Young Republicans posted to X on Thursday afternoon.
