Leftists are exploiting hot summer temperatures, Tropical Storm Hilary, and the devastating wildfires in Maui to advance their extremist climate change agenda by whipping up hysteria over the weather, with television personality Bill Nye calling for pressure to be put on the GOP presidential candidates.
“The Science Guy” appeared on Monday’s edition of “José Díaz-Balart Reports” on MSNBC where he spun the recent adverse weather events in the context of the greater struggle against the alleged coming climate apocalypse.
Nye admitted to the host that “it’s very difficult to tie any specific weather event to climate change, but if you like to worry about things, this is a great time,” seeming to suggest that Rahm Emanuel’s maxim of never letting a good crisis “go to waste” is in play due to events in California and Hawaii.

“This may be the beginning of things, and people like to throw around the expression, new normal. Well, it’s not going to be normal. It’s just going to get worse and worse, probably,” he said. “So, what I’m, what I would like you all to do as ‘hard-hitting investigating reporters at the place for politics,’ is get somebody, probably a young person during this debate this week, to ask any of these guys and gal running for president what they’re gonna do about climate change.”
“How are all of these things interconnected and what is it that we can all do to make a difference?” Díaz-Balart asked his guest.
After rattling off the details of how hurricanes and other cyclonic storms are fueled by heat, Nye told viewers that it is important to support the Democratic Party which has morphed into a climate doomsday cult that controls the U.S. government.
“So, what we can all do about it, I say this all the time, is vote,” he said. “You know, this perception that if you just recycle your water bottles, if you just recycle your newspapers, climate change will be addressed. That is not the case.
“And I’ll tell you, between you and me, everybody’s talking about this movie, “Oppenheimer” and was an enormous government investment to create new physics to come up with a new understanding of nature,” he continued. “What we need, everybody is virtually unlimited electricity. And so if I were king of the forest, what we would do — I’m not kidding. We would invest in fusion because there’s so many organizations, universities, private companies working on fusion. Somebody’s going to figure this out.”
Nye’s comments come as speculation builds that President Joe Biden could declare a national climate emergency that would take his COVID authoritarianism to an entirely different level as he is under increasing pressure to do so from climate change extremists.
Biden, who toured the fire-ravaged area in Maui on Monday after vacationing at billionaire climate alarmist Tom Steyer’s Lake Tahoe home, is being urged by far-left activists and climate crazies in Congress to pull the trigger on what would be an unprecedented exercise of executive power to crack down on the American way of life.
In a July letter to Biden, a gaggle of far-left senators including Bernie Sanders of Vermont, Brian Schatz of Hawaii and Ed Markey and Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts demanded that he go full dictator.
“The climate crisis is one of the biggest emergencies that our country has ever faced and time is running out. We cannot allow a single Senator to stall our progress. Addressing this crisis head-on, with the full authorities you possess is a win for the environment, public health, the planet, American workers, American consumers, and our national security interests. We urge you to act boldly, declare this crisis the national emergency that it is, and embark upon bold regulatory and administrative action,” the senators wrote.
“The devastation in Maui is a clear sign that the president must declare a climate emergency — now. While FEMA is providing resources to the local heroes on the ground fighting for the lives and livelihoods of Hawaiians, the underlying climate-driven conditions of drought, extreme heat, environmental injustice, and non-resilient infrastructure will remain,” Markey said in a statement to Politico.
“I refuse to accept that people choosing between burning alive or jumping into the ocean for hours on end is our new normal. This is a crisis and we need to treat it that way. That starts with President Biden declaring a national climate emergency to unlock vast federal resources and emergency powers to help our communities prepare for and recover from these deadly climate disasters,” said Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D-Ore.) according to the outlet.
What Nye and others always leave out is that no matter what action the United States would take, it would be negated by the fact that the entire planet shares the same atmosphere with China and India, the world’s biggest polluters who aren’t about to kill their economies with the Green New Deal-style lunacy that is dangerously close to happening here.
