The skewed priorities of President Joe Biden took centerstage yet again as details of Lake Tahoe vacation prioritized over trip to survey Hawaiian disaster revealed the billionaire climate activist digs his family was renting.
By the time the president sets foot in Maui Monday, it will already have been nearly two whole weeks since the wildfires that devastated the island community began. Even after getting slammed for his smug “No comment” line, Biden refused to relinquish his extended getaway, limiting his plans to what appeared to be little more than a face-saving photo op alongside first lady Jill Biden.
Meanwhile, on the heels of a stay in Delaware, the first family touched down in Nevada for their almost week-long trip that would have them staying at the home of climate activist and billionaire Democratic donor Tom Steyer.
Steyer had competed against Biden and a field of leftists in seeking the 2020 Democratic Party presidential nomination. In the wake of his failed bid, he co-founded the green energy investment firm Galvanize Climate Solutions in 2021.
Of course, the president and his family weren’t merely guests of the billionaire Democratic donor. As the Associated Press reported, “The first couple is renting a private home on Lake Tahoe, the massive alpine lake that abuts California and Nevada and is a tourist attraction, particularly in the winter for its ski resorts.” (emphasis added)
“The Bidens are renting the home for fair market value, the White House said, and will spend about a week in the area,” noted the report.
The New York Post noted that it remained unlikely that the amount would be revealed as it was said to be a private transaction. “The White House did not disclose what amount Biden would pay for the home, and it’s unclear how such a private transaction could be verified unless the terms are voluntarily disclosed by the parties.”
The home and property were said to have been purchased by Steyer in 2007 for $15 million according to county records.
Appearances of impropriety mounted as earlier this month a tax-payer funded electric bus company filed for bankruptcy that other green investors had contributed heavily too. Fox News host Jesse Watters had gone so far as to call it a “pump and dump” scheme specifically noting that Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm had owned stock in the company until the scandalous implications were called out.

In addition to Biden’s daughter Ashley and granddaughters Maisy and Naomi who arrived with him, scandal-plagued Hunter Biden, his wife Melissa Cohen and their toddler Beau “flew separately on a commercial flight” and were “already at the residence awaiting the rest of the family,” a White House pool report indicated.
The younger Biden’s inclusion in the family getaway comes as congressional investigations have produced more evidence alleging the then-vice president’s involvement with his son’s foreign business dealings as part of a suspected influence-peddling scheme.
Maybe Tom want to buy some of Hunter’s art?
