‘Seek help…and f**k off!’ Dem ramps up theatrics on House floor over Padilla, F-bombs fly in unhinged tirade

A House Democrat enraged over the Padilla incident ranted and raved at a Republican colleague Thursday, prompting a fierce clapback.

Rep. John Mannion, a New York Democrat, suddenly started yelling at Republican Rep. Mike Lawler on the House floor as Lawler was speaking with Rep. Jimmy Panetta, according to Axios.

“Mannion stands up and just starts yelling at him for absolutely no reason but emotion about the atmosphere that we’re in right now,” an anonymous House Democrat told the outlet.

According to the Democrat, Mannion told Lawler “something to the effect of, ‘You’ve got to do something. Stand up. Grow a pair of balls.'”

Lawler reportedly responded by saying, “F–k you, I have no idea what you’re talking about.”

He later doubled down in a tweet, calling Mannion “unhinged and unprofessional,” and recommending he “go seek help for anger management — and f–k off.”

Mannion was reportedly upset about Sen. Alex Padilla having being manhandled and detained by federal agents when he crashed a Department of Homeland Security press conference in Los Angeles.

“I asked him to compel his colleagues to save the country and stop what the people of this country do not want … the defiance of law,” Mannion later told Axios, describing what he’d been shouting about.

“Mike Lawler and I served in the state legislature. He knows well enough,” he added.

According to Axios, the unhinged Democrat “had a similar outburst” while ranting and raving at the media during an earlier press conference outside on the House floor.

“We need you — we need you to hold them accountable,” he reportedly shouted at the press. “Media, it’s your country too. Don’t cover the distractions. Cover the actions that lead us towards authoritarianism, please.”

In a separate statement made late to Spectrum News, Mannion doubled down on his insanity.

“If making some noise on the House floor and calling out Trump enablers draws attention to what’s happening to our country right before our eyes – good,” he said.

John Salka, the Republican running against Mannion in 2026, responded to the fiasco by excoriating the Democrat over his “lack of self-control” and “little interest in cooperation or civility.”

“What we witnessed on the House floor today was disappointing, but sadly, not surprising,” he said in a statement. “Congressman Mannion, who has repeatedly demonstrated a lack of self-control, resorted to shouting profanities at a fellow Member of Congress.”

“Mannion made clear today he has little interest in cooperation or civility. His outburst was not only unbecoming of the office he holds — it was an embarrassment,” he added.

Mannion is no stranger to controversy. Last summer, his own former staffers accused him of harassment and intimidation in a public letter they published at Medium.

“We are a group of former staff of New York State Senator John W. Mannion,” they wrote. “We are writing to share our experiences of a hostile work environment — including mistreatment, harassment, and retaliation — during our time working for the Senator.”

“We started our work with him because we wanted to make a difference in our community, but many of us have left public service due to the trauma we endured. Our allegations are serious, often sexist and homophobic in nature, and we hope that they will be taken seriously,” they added.
