Far-left Hollywood actor Seth Rogen has moved slightly closer to acknowledging that a large chunk of the American people are fed-up with Hollywood and their self-gratification.

In an interview this week with Insider, he was asked whether it’s “even worth it anymore” to accept a gig hosting the Oscars, given that it’s allegedly a “thankless job.”

The proudly left-wing actor replied by delivering a spiel about how nobody cares about the “awards we give ourselves”

“I don’t get why movie people care so much if other people care what awards we give ourselves. To me, maybe people just don’t care,” he said.

But he didn’t mean the remark as a complaint.

“I don’t care who wins the automobile awards. No other industry expects everyone to care about what awards they shower upon themselves. Maybe people just don’t care. Maybe they did for a while and they stopped caring. And why should they?” he added.

Last year the Oscars notched its lowest ratings in history, drawing in only 9.8 million viewers, down from the previous year’s record low of 23.6 million viewers.

Other Hollywood award shows, including the Grammys, have fared similarly.

Actor Ricky Gervais tried to explain why when he hosted the Golden Globes in January 2020. In a stunning speech, he slammed the crowd of actors and actresses for their “woke” hypocrisy and for lecturing everyday Americans on issues they themselves barely understand.

“You say you’re woke, but the companies you work for are unbelievable. Apple, Amazon, Disney. If ISIS started a streaming service you’d call your agent wouldn’t you?” he said.

“So if you do win an award tonight, don’t use it as a platform to make a political speech. You’re in no position to lecture the public about anything. You know nothing about the real world. Most of you spent less time in school than Greta Thunberg. So if you win, come up, accept your little award, thank your agent and your God and then f–k off.”

Listen:

But Hollywood didn’t listen. A month after the 2020 Golden Globes, Hollywood rushed to make the 2020 Oscars ‘woke.’

Actor Joaquin Phoenix, who won the award for the Best Actor in a Leading Role for his performance in “Joker,” ranted about environmentalism and animal rights.

“We go into the natural world and we plunder it for its resources — we feel entitled to artificially inseminate a cow, and when she gives birth, we steal her baby even though her cries of anguish are unmistakable,” he said.

Actor Brad Pitt meanwhile took a shot at the then-GOP-led Senate, slamming the body for allegedly not allowing turncoat former Trump administration official John Bolton to testify longer in then-President Donald Trump’s first impeachment trial.

“They told me I only have 45 seconds up here, which is 45 seconds more than the Senate gave John Bolton this week. I’m thinking maybe Quentin [Tarantino] does a movie about it. In the end, the adults do the right thing,” he said.

Despite viewership for the Oscars dropping by six million viewers from the previous year, Hollywood again doubled down come 2021, with actors once more lecturing the American people.

“Today the police will kill three people. And tomorrow the police will kill three people. And the day after that, the police will kill three people because on average the police in America every day kill three people, which amounts to about a thousand people a year. And those people happen to disproportionately be black people,” actor Trayvon Free claimed.

“I know that a lot of you at home want to reach for your remote when you feel like Hollywood is preaching to you, but as a mother of a Black son, I know the fear that so many live with and no amount of fame or fortune changes that,” actress Regina King added.

This time viewership for the Oscars dropped by a whopping 13.8 million viewers. The question now is whether Hollywood has learned its lesson yet. Critics say Rogen’s rhetoric suggests not, given as he’d said nothing about, you know, him and his peers lecturing the American people and acting “woke.”

Look (*Language warning):

Gervais for his part got it in 2020 and still gets it now.

“With all of the austerity and people struggling, they think, ‘Why are these people lecturing me? They’re going   to an awards ceremony in a limo and are telling me to recycle?'” he said in a recent interview.

“People just got sick of it, just got sick of virtue signaling. And they were like a beacon to aim their wrath at. The people with nothing became tired of being lectured by people who had everything.”
