Slugga: Dem socialist surge faces next big test in Michigan

They’ve sent a shockwave through the political system, and now the question is whether the democratic socialists have staying power. It’s a question that could be answered as soon as Tuesday night.

“Michigan is ground zero for the Democratic Party’s ideological war,” as Politico put it, not exactly an understatement for a traditionally blue battleground state that finds itself in a position to be the bulwark against the socialist insurgency.

At first, the June results in New York City, where Democrat House upstarts backed by “kingmaker” Mayor Zohran Mamdani unexpectedly ousted two sitting Congress members backed by House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries – including filthy rich uber-scumball Daniel Goldman – were thought to be an outlier.

But those hopes were dashed when another political newbie, Ethiopian attorney Melat Kiros, toppled 15-term incumbent Rep. Diana DeGette in Colorado, serving notice that the commies had broken containment and are poised for a major shakeout of the feckless Democratic Party establishment.

A shakeout that could become an earthquake if anti-Israel Muslim firebrand Dr. Abdul El-Sayed can take out Rep. Haley Stevens, an unappealing woman who fell out of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down but does have the endorsement of Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, Jewish lesbian AG Dana Nessel and Sen. Ruben Gallego (D-Ariz.), whose recent track record may be the kiss of death after he also backed the ill-fated Eric Swalwell and Graham Platner.

El-Sayed has a galaxy of socialist star power behind him, including commie curmudgeon Bernie Sanders, AOC, and bomb-throwing podcaster Hasan Piker, a man who is emerging as the Joe Rogan of the hard left as well as the entire “Squad” of smack-talking Democrats, a veritable Hamas fan club.

If he manages to overcome millions of dollars from outside interests and the meddling of Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), it will be Katy bar the door for the Democrat establishment whose heads are already being sized up for pikes by the socialist barbarians at the gate.

CNN political data whiz Harry Enten is predicting that El-Sayed is set to deliver the “biggest blow” yet to an establishment that is reeling and could be down on the canvas by Wednesday morning if Schumer and company are unable to pull a rabbit out of their hats.

“Abdul El-Sayed is a very heavy favorite going into tomorrow, and of course he is backed by a lot of folks on the left wing of the Democratic Party,” Enten said on Monday. “And at this point, as I said at the beginning, he looks tomorrow to deliver the biggest blow so far against the establishment wing of the Democratic Party.”

“If Abdul El-Sayed is successful next Tuesday, this will mean the hyper-progressive socialist movement has percolated into one of the most crucial general election states,” Democrat strategist Adrienne Elrod told Politico. “This means Democratic candidates running for President in 2028 will have to be even more mindful of how to approach this sector of the electorate.”

An Abdul El-Sayed win could bring about seismic changes in the Democratic Party, and could grease the rails for the eventual ouster of Schumer.
