SNAP is feeding dead people and half a million take double benefits

Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins revealed the shocking results of the USDA’s investigation into fraud in the government food stamps program.

Speaking with Fox News host Laura Ingraham, Rollins rolled out the “staggering” details, noting how 5,000 dead people were found to be recipients of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), as well as half a million people getting double benefits.

Rollins shared how only 29 red states had complied with the investigation’s request for data, while teasing a “very big announcement” coming next week.

“What Democrats did not include in their calculation, in their insane government shutdown, was the fact that this spotlight was going to be shined upon one of their favorite government welfare programs that under Joe Biden increased 40 percent,” Rollins said on “The Ingraham Angle.”

“Where all that money went, trying to buy elections, we’re not 100 percent sure, but we’re rolling it back now,” she added, explaining how governors were asked to share their SNAP data in the investigation.

“Half a million people getting benefits two times under the same name. 5,000 dead people, 80 percent of the able-bodied Americans, meaning they can work, they don’t have small children at home, they are not taking care of an elderly parent, they can work, and they choose not to work,” Rollins continued.”Of course, because they are getting significant benefits from the taxpayer.”

Rollins called out “what is perhaps one of the most corrupt, dysfunctional programs in American history,” saying the administration is “cracking down. We now have a plan to fix it.”

Ingrahama noted that “this has been going on for many years,” and is “routine,” sharing examples.

“It’s staggering. And so discouraging,” Rollins concurred.

“You know, if you are a taxpayer, and you’re working hard every day and you are paying your taxes, and then you look and you see these stories of this fraud of people charging more than once— we found one guy in six states who was collecting in six different states under the same number,” she said.

The Agriculture Secretary reminded that the data showing the fraud and abuse had come from red states that had complied with the USDA investigation.

“It is the blue states we’re still trying to get data on. Could you imagine if this fraud is happening in the red states, what is happening in the blue states?” she wondered.
