‘Squad’ member urges Biden to show border ‘leadership’ because migrant crisis ‘looking bad’ for Dems

U.S. Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY), a proud member of the “Squad,” is telling President Biden he needs to show “leadership” over the illegal immigrant crisis hitting New York City because it’s making Democrats look bad.

The progressive lawmaker wants an executive order over the mess in the Big Apple. He seems to have no clue that leftist policies have caused the disaster New Yorkers are experiencing currently. Nevertheless, he’s demanding that Biden do something.

Bowman made his scathing comments to reporters for maximum effect. He referred to Democrats having to win four seats to reclaim the House of Representatives and that he hopes Biden is paying attention because it’s likely to be a critical issue in 2024 as residents get angrier and angrier over it. Currently, Republicans hold the majority in the House by a 222-212 razor-thin margin. There is one vacancy, according to Fox News.

“We need leadership from President Biden, period. We need that leadership right here in New York State because you know, New York State is struggling,” Bowman commented. “We’re struggling to provide housing and all the support that the migrants need.”

“Here’s the thing, Democrats are looking bad right now in New York State, and that’s unacceptable when we have to win at least four congressional seats to take back the House,” Bowman bitterly remarked. “So hopefully the president is listening.”

Over 93,000 migrants have reportedly inundated New York City since last spring. Mayor Eric Adams says the city is at a tipping point and there is no more room for illegal immigrants. That is evident as they now are sleeping on the sidewalks of Manhattan and are spilling into the streets.

Buildings all over the city have been converted into migrant shelters. Adams reportedly wants to even take sports fields and turn them into tent cities for them.

Adams and New York Democrats have been begging Biden to use his executive authority and declare an emergency, authorizing more federal funds to help deal with the crisis.

“We need help, and it’s not going to get any better. From this moment on, it’s downhill. There is no more room,” Adams declared last week.

In late July, over 50 New York Democrats urged Biden to direct federal aid to the city.

“Our City is experiencing an unprecedented migrant influx, with a surge of asylum seekers arriving here in numbers never seen before in history,” they wrote in a desperate letter. “We take pride in New York being a beacon of hope for immigrants, but the influx of migrants is so great that the City is running out of resources.”
