Shock and dread gripped establishment media after a stunning new poll indicated that it may not be smooth sailing for President Joe Biden as he seeks a second term to finish the job of gutting America, and few were more stunned than longtime Democrat mouthpiece George Stephanopoulos who was having a hard time processing the grim numbers for his party’s standard bearer.
The Washington Post-ABC News survey came in low and under the radar like a stealth missile, hitting just in time for the Sunday morning political talk shows and leaving the gobsmacked former top spox for Bill Clinton struggling to cope with not only Biden’s dismal numbers but the news that he would have his clock cleaned by former President Donald J. Trump if the election were held today.
According to the poll, only 32 percent of voters feel that the octogenarian career politician has the ”mental sharpness” to effectively serve as president, lagging behind the 2024 GOP frontrunner who polled at 54 percent when it came to the mental capacity to carry out the rigorous duties of the most powerful office on the planet.
Worse for Biden, who just announced this reelection bid two weeks ago and benefits from the DNC tilting the table in his favor, is that the results show that Trump would mop the floor with him, despite his indictment in the Stormy Daniels “hush money” case and the regime’s legal hitman, special counsel Jack Smith, reportedly moving in for the kill.
“This poll is just brutal for President Biden,” Stephanopoulos said as ABC News Political Director Rick Klein broke down the ugly numbers for Biden and the Democrats, including the incumbent losing support among key demographics critical to his hopes for staying in the White House.

In the poll, not only is Trump clobbering Biden by 7 points, but so is Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, the other top Republican contender even though he has yet to announce whether he’s even running. Trump beats Biden 49-42 percent with DeSantis also clubbing the geriatric gaffe machine by 7 points, 48-41 percent, not good news at all for a man whom the party already appears to be completely locked in on for 2024.
“I’ve got to admit I have a hard time wrapping my head around that,” Stephanopoulos moaned. “You’ve got one in five people who say they believe President Trump should be face… should face criminal charges, but they would still vote for him?”
“It is remarkable,” Klein said. And I do think once there’s a match-up with an actual person, maybe that changes, but that just tells you about how much Trump is kind of baked into the political equation.”
The numbers on Biden’s “mental sharpness” also drew the attention of CNN’s Jake Tapper and his “State of the Union” friends.

“Pretty stark numbers there. Do Biden and Trump have the mental sharpness to serve? Thirty-two percent of the American people say Biden does not. Sixty-three percent—I’m sorry. 32 percent say he has the mental sharpness, 63 percent says he does not. Me not being so sharp this morning. And then Donald Trump, 54 percent say yes he is sharp enough to be President, 43 percent say no. Karen, that is, you know, that is not a good number for President Biden. Two-thirds of the American people say he’s not sharp enough to be president,” Tapper said.
The poll also shows that Biden’s disapproval rating is now at 56 percent, leaving the deeply unpopular leader underwater and Democrats in a panic with his only serious competition being from Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. who has been shut out since the DNC refused to hold debates, after jumping South Carolina and its heavily black electorate to the front of the line to benefit the race-baiter-in-chief.
Granted that it’s still 18 months until voters go to the polls, but with the country beset by a cascading series of crises due to his policies, things could get even worse for Biden.
