Trump breaks his silence on Bud Light-Dylan Mulvaney controversy: ‘Money does talk’

Like many Republicans, former President Donald J. Trump has been tight-lipped regarding the Bud Light backlash after the company’s catastrophic marketing decision to feature transgender TikTok influencer Dylan Mulvaney in ads to pitch its popular beer, but the billionaire businessman has now broken his silence with a brief – but on the mark – response to the ongoing controversy.

The damage to Anheuser-Busch and its Bud Light brand has been enormous with boycotts and widespread customer disgust with the promotion that many beer drinkers find to be repulsive, tanking sales which, according to recent numbers, are down a massive 26 percent with at least some of the public anger being a reaction toward “woke” corporations in general that have increasingly taken to promoting left-wing causes, even if it insults loyal customers.

“It’s time to beat the Radical Left at their own game. Money does talk—Anheuser-Busch now understands that. Great new Book by Wayne Allyn Root. Buy your copy today!” Trump wrote on Truth Social on Sunday, giving a thumbs-up to the new book, “The Great Patriot BUY-cott Book” by the conservative commentator.

Root’s book provides conservatives with a blueprint on how to fight back against corporate wokeness. Released before Bud Light’s Mulvaney fiasco, it has been an amazing example of how the right can wage economic warfare, too.

“We just made it simple and EASY for conservatives, Christians, patriots, and 80+ million Trump voters to FUND Conservative, Patriotic & Christian Companies and DEFUND Leftist Woke Companies! Let’s stop giving money to companies that hate us and start giving money to companies that respect us, celebrate us, focus on us, and uplift and inspire us!” Amazon’s description of the book reads. “We MUST become the LOUD MAJORITY. It’s time to make a defining noise. Money talks.”

It’s probably understandable that so many Republicans have declined to weigh in on the issue, considering that Anheuser-Busch has long been a big donor.

Last month, Trump’s son, Don Jr. took up for the company on his “Triggered” podcast.

“I’m not gonna blame the whole company for the inaction or the stupidity of someone in a marketing campaign that got woke as hell,” he said. “The company itself doesn’t participate in the same leftist nonsense as the other big conglomerates.”

“We looked into the political giving and lobbying history of Anheuser-Busch. And guess what? They actually support Republicans.”

“Anheuser-Busch totally sh*t the bed with this Dylan Mulvaney thing,” Trump Jr. added. “I’m not, though, for destroying an American and iconic company for something like this.”

Last week, it was reported that Anheuser-Busch is spinning the entire costly dumpster fire away as an overreaction to “one single can” with that can being the specially made one featuring the likeness of the trans TikToker that went viral on social media. Along with the videos of him vamping in women’s clothing, with several of the familiar blue and white cans, there was another of him presumably naked and soaping up in a bathtub.

“This was one single can given to one social media influencer,” a recent letter to wholesalers states, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch “It was not made for production or sale to the general public. This can is not a formal campaign or advertisement.”
