A new study from the American College of Cardiology (ACC) found that cases of myocarditis after an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine were two-to-three times higher after a second dose of Moderna’s shot than reported with the Pfizer BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine.
While noting that “a study in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology” found that “overall cases of heart inflammation with either vaccine are very rare,” the new ACC study, released last week, revealed, “Incidence of myocarditis, pericarditis or myopericarditis is two- to threefold higher after a second dose of the Moderna Spikevax COVID-19 vaccine when compared to the Pfizer BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine.”
Data for the study was pulled from roughly 3 million Canadians in British Columbia.
“People in the study were 18 years old or older and had received two primary doses of either Pfizer or Moderna vaccine in British Columbia, Canada, with the second dose between Jan. 1, 2021 and Sept. 9, 2021,” the ACC reports. “Individuals whose first or second shot were administered outside of British Columbia or had a history of myocarditis or pericarditis within one year prior to second dose were excluded.”
“Within 21 days of the second dose, there were a total of 59 myocarditis cases (21 Pfizer and 31 Moderna) and 41 pericarditis cases (21 Pfizer and 20 Moderna),” the study states. “Researchers also looked at rates per million doses and the rate was 35.6 cases per million for Moderna and 12.6 per million for Pfizer—an almost threefold increase after Moderna shots vs. Pfizer.”

“Comparatively,” the ACC continues, “rates of myocarditis in the general population in 2018, were 2.01 per million in people under age 40 and 2.2 per million in people over age 40.”
“Rates of myocarditis and pericarditis were higher with the Moderna vaccine in both males and females between ages 18 and 39, with the highest per million rates in males ages 18-29 after a second dose of Moderna,” the study found.
According to Guy Witberg, MD, MPH, a cardiologist at Rabin Medical Center in Petah-Tikva, Israel, this is good news.
“[The study] should help put to rest ‘vaccine hesitancy’ due to concerns over cardiac adverse events,” he wrote. “This is one of only a few direct comparisons of the two widely adopted mRNA vaccines, and its results have practical policy implications: for a substantial segment of the population suffering from cardiovascular disease…these data give a strong argument to preferentially use the BNT162b2 [Pfizer] vaccine over mRNA-1273 [Moderna].”
The study, Witberg said, will allow for a more personalized approach to administering COVID-19 vaccines.
In a statement emailed to UPI, Moderna spokesperson Luke Mircea-Willats defended his company’s vaccine.
Moderna’s “mRNA-1273 has been administered to hundreds of millions of people worldwide and has been shown to be effective against both the original strain of the virus and its major variants,” Mircea-Willats wrote. “Regulatory agencies around the world have stated that the benefits of COVID-19 mRNA vaccines significantly outweigh the risk across all age groups. Vaccination against COVID-19 continues to be a critical tool in overcoming the impacts of the global pandemic.”
According to the Big Pharma giant, mRNA COVID-19 vaccines present a “very rare” risk of myocarditis, and “when it does occur, cases are generally mild and resolve after a few days with treatment and rest.”
While it may be true, it’ll be a hard sell to those on social media who have, since the rollout of the vaccines, watched athlete after athlete drop over on fields around the world.

While the ACC study focused on those who were older than 18 years of age, new studies will finally be looking at post-vaccine myocarditis in teenagers.
On Friday, America’s Frontline Doctors founder, Dr. Simone Gold — who, according to the Daily Wire, “was de-platformed by social media giants Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube for posting information surrounding COVID-19 in 2020” — wrote on Twitter that “Pfizer and Moderna are launching clinical trials to track vaccine-caused myocarditis in teens/young adults.”
“We were censored for exposing the dangers of these experimental biological agents,” she tweeted. “Now, even the creators of the ‘vaccines’ are forced to recognize the truth.”

According to lawyer and popular conservative YouTuber, Viva Frei, that simply isn’t good enough.
“They told us it was ‘safe and effective’ before doing trials to determine if it causes myocarditis,” Frei tweeted. “That’s not ‘moving at the speed of science’. It’s a crime against humanity.”
