As June officially kicked off Pride Month, many Target customers noticed a decidedly different vibe at retail stores that previously showcased LGBTQ displays.
Social media posts have noted that the “vibe shift is real,” crediting the election of President Donald Trump and the return to sanity in much of the country as the impetus for the changes being seen in Target stores.
“Target replaced their Pride Month aisle with USA Pride,” the popular End Wokeness account on X posted, along with images from the retail giant’s Pride displays from previous years and the patriotic items being showcased in current displays.

Notably, the Pride theme has not been erased at the store, but customers pointed out that displays and merchandise are just not being featured at the front and center of many locations.
Oh @Target still has a pride section, just not front and center like before. I was there yesterday. I wasn’t real happy to see it there…. pic.twitter.com/jNdvkkrjKU

Some did not approve of the shift.

Others wondered if Target was to be trusted with the change.
Who cares? The point is the vibe shift.

And some X users noted that it was always about the money.
If they change their policies to reflect what their customer base wants, then why wouldn’t we reward them with shopping in their stores? It’s really the way it should work. If they want to hold LGBT values, they can, we just won’t shop there. The market will decide.

They decorate to the audience they want to see to. They discovered the rainbow audience was a tiny fraction of the USA.

Turns out Americans prefer stars and stripes over drag queen onesies. Target finally read the room—took ‘em long enough.

It feels different in America since Trump came into office.
One week it’s drag queens in toy aisles.
Next week it’s stars, stripes, and USA Pride.
The vibe shift is real.Borders closed.

I saw other Targets locations were muting displays. But I assumed they’d go full #Pride in Seattle.
Nope.
It was all USA merch up front- complete with a mannequin nuclear family.
