Ted Cruz raises eyebrows with Disney joke about Mickey and Pluto ‘going at it’

In a tongue-in-cheek remark that flew under the radar, Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, suggested that we could be seeing Disney characters Mickey Mouse and Pluto “going at it” any day now — a sexual reference in response to the entertainment giant going full-on woke.

Disney stepped into a firestorm by embracing the radical left’s opposition to Florida’s parental rights bill that protects K-3 students from sexual instruction in the classroom, a law that has been mischaracterized as the “Don’t Say Gay” bill. In what proved to be throwing kerosene on a raging fire, an executive openly boasted about “adding queerness” to its shows and productions.

“Our leadership over there has been so welcoming to my not-so-secret gay agenda,” Television Animation Executive Producer Latoya Raveneau said. “Wherever I could I was adding queerness. No one would stop me and no one was trying to stop me.”

All of which gives Cruz reason for concern, as he expressed during an April 12 appearance at a Young America’s Foundation event at Yale University.

“I think there are people now who are misguided trying to drive Disney, stepping in saying, you know, in every episode now, they’re gonna have, you know, Mickey and Pluto going at it,” the GOP senator said.

“Like, really?! he exclaimed. “But it’s just like, come on, guys! These are kids and you know, you could always shift to Cinemax if you want that…I’m a dad. It used to be you’d be able to put your kids in front of the Disney Channel, and be all right, something innocuous will happen.”

Cruz responded to the video above in a tweet Monday: “Hysterical—Leftists think parents want woke corporations indoctrinating our kids. It ain’t complicated: don’t talk about sex—gay or straight—with little kids!”

Seems simple enough, but for some reason, this is a hill the left is willing to die on — which may expose just how critically important it is to their overall agenda to move away from the biblical values that were part of America’s founding.
