‘Terminator’ star’s LA home targeted by bomb threat on Thanksgiving Day

A week of threats counted former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger among them after a bomb had allegedly been placed on the celebrity’s property.

While tens of millions of Americans were gathering together to give thanks, an unknown number of ne’er-do-wells had instead opted to give threats. In addition to a slew of President-elect Donald Trump’s nominees and a number of Democratic House members being targeted, the star of “The Terminator” was said to have had his own Thanksgiving Day “swatting.”

According to a report by TMZ, someone had called in a threat that proved false that a bomb had been placed inside the mailbox of the governor’s home in Los Angeles’ Brentwood neighborhood.

Conversations with Schwarzenegger’s security had revealed that the renowned bodybuilder had been out at the gym Thursday morning when the call had come in and sources told the outlet that the surveillance measures at the celebrity home would make it “virtually impossible” for someone to actually plant a suspicious package on the premises.

“It was determined there was no evidence of any explosives,” LAPD Officer Kevin Terzes said, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Schwarzenegger was hardly the only high-profile figure to get targeted by criminal false reports as others faced with threats at their homes had included Trump nominees: Tom Homan for border czar, Pete Hegseth for Defense Secretary, Brooke Rollins for Agriculture Secretary, Lee Zeldin for EPA administrator and John Ratcliffe for CIA director.

Homan had responded to the threat against his family during an appearance on Fox News’ “The Story with Martha MacCallum” where he’d chided the outlandish reports and demonization for putting potential cabinet members at risk.

“What doesn’t help is all the negative press around the president and people he’s putting in his cabinet. Me, I’m not in the cabinet, but, I’ve read numerous hit pieces on me. You know, ‘I’m a racist and, I’m the father of family separation,’ all this other stuff. So the hate media doesn’t help at all because there are some nuts out there that will take advantage. I thought we’re beyond that, [now the] elections over that we’re going to get beyond that…But I was with the attitude lately that if you want something, come get some. Because I’ve been through this many, many times.”

Meanwhile, like Schwarzenegger himself, additional threats had been reported against those with no affiliation with the incoming Trump administration, Connecticut Democratic Representatives Jahana Hayes, Jim Himes and John Larson.

As for the former Republican governor, he’d made clear in the final days leading up to the election that he preferred Vice President Kamala Harris to Trump, asserting in a post on X, “I don’t really do endorsements. I’m not shy about sharing my views, but I had politics and don’t trust many politicians.”

Despite that, he insisted that Republicans were at fault for driving up the deficit and Democrats were to blame for increased crime as he asserted, “I am voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz,” citing his desire to “move forward as a country” while acknowledging “I have plenty of disagreements with their platform.”

Regarding Trump, Schwarzenegger claimed, “It will just be four more years of bullsh-t with no results that makes us angrier and angrier, more divided, and more hateful.”
