The elitist liberals on ABC’s The View did their part — albeit unwittingly — in showcasing that even those who are vaccinated and boosted are not safe from contracting COVID-19.

The show returned from the holiday break broadcasting remote, from the homes of the co-stars after co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg and Sunny Hostin tested positive for COVID-19 while they were off.

“Well, they say there’s no place like home for the holidays! And that’s exactly where we are today. So, happy New Year from all of our living rooms,” co-host Joy Behar said to open Monday’s show. “As you can see, we’re back in boxes and doing the show remotely. Hopefully for just a week. I’m praying that it’s just a week, but you never know, because this Omicron thing is all over the place.”

“Why am I here instead of Whoopi? Well, Whoopi unfortunately tested positive over the break,” she explained. “But she’ll be back, probably next week. Since she’s vaxxed and boosted, her symptoms have been very mild. We’re being super cautious here at The View, and we’ll be checking with her soon, so you’ll see Whoopi too.”

CNN’s favorite Republican, Ana Navarro, the alleged conservative fill-in host, shared her own tale of woe involving her father.

“Since losing my mom wasn’t enough, and having Christmas 10 days later wasn’t enough, my father tested positive for COVID and wasn’t able to come for Christmas or my birthday,” Navarro shared. “I got stuck with rentals and linens for 20 people and a catered meal for 20 people that’s been bloating out of my refrigerator.”

After explaining that her dog “exploded” after being fed a 10 ounce steak and had to be taken to the vet, Navarro had some positive news, “Here’s the good news: my father finally tested negative for COVID and was able to fly in New Year’s Day.”

Sara Haines weighed in next to say she went to Florida with her two older children to visit her parents and siblings, only to return home to “a COVID positive husband.”

“I was heading to Florida, going into the lion’s den — sorry Ana — but I came out okay,” Haines said. “I came back to a COVID positive husband! Max got COVID, and we had to quarantine within the house. I had the kids, we were in KN95 masks. We were lucky we’re in a house now, because we could’ve never done this in an apartment. But we stayed clear, and I have tested negative four times.”

Behar remarked about the surge peaking sometime soon, before sharing that she too had to cancel an elaborate holiday party.

“I was supposed to have a fairly decent-sized Christmas party at my house,” she said. “People had to be tested and vaccinated the whole thing — I just canceled the whole thing. We were all very disappointed,” she said.

Having recovered, Hostin was participating in the show and explained that in addition to getting COVID-19, both her father-in-law and mother-in-law just passed away.

“We had a very tough holiday,” she said. “I too tested positive for COVID right before Christmas. I was isolated alone, I FaceTimed with my family for Christmas and New Year’s. It was extremely difficult. My mom also tested positive for COVID. We’re all negative now, and thank god Manny and the kids and my dad were negative.”
