American exceptionalism was presented as trivial as facts to “The View” co-host Sunny Hostin Tuesday when she flippantly dismissed Chinese concentration camps with a race-baiter’s view of U.S. prisons.

Token conservative Alyssa Farah Griffin attempted to take point as the coffee klatch reacted to a recent poll suggesting a dramatic decline in favorability toward patriotism. According to the Wall Street Journal-National Opinion Research Center poll, compared to 70 percent in 1998, only 38 percent of respondents felt patriotism was “very important.”
Farah Griffin contended, “If America is not the number one global power, it’s not going to be Denmark, it’s going to be communist China, a country that right now the government is imprisoning Uyghur Muslims in concentration camps. It is a deeply racist government, it’s a human rights-violating government, it is a government that if they are the leader of the free world, we are not a free world like we are right now.”
Seated beside her, Hostin begged to differ on Farah Griffin’s shots against the communists and socialists of the world and instead turned her attention to propaganda from the federal government to contend, “When I listen to Christopher Wray, the head of the FBI, he said white supremacy is the biggest domestic threat to this country and so a woman of color and with a 6’2″ black kid in college and a 5’7″, 5’8″ black kid in high school, I don’t see that part of American exceptionalism. I’m sorry.”
“I think this country has a lot of problems that could be solved. Yes, maybe they’re putting Muslims in jail in Afghanistan, I think you mentioned?” she asked calling attention to her glaring lack of familiarity with the issue as Farah Griffin corrected, “China.”
“China? They’re putting a lot more black people in jail here,” Hostin declared.
Despite her assertions, facts stood to the contrary as an NBC News report ascertained that at least one million Uyghur Muslims, along with other ethnic minorities, had been forced into labor camps where they were forced to undergo “re-education.”
By contrast, the Prison Policy Initiative determined that 38 percent of the United States’ roughly two million prisoners were black, That amounted to about 760,000 incarcerated black Americans, which even if a fraction had been wrongfully imprisoned, could not surpass the total number of Uyghurs locked up solely for existing.
In a surprise twist, Whoopi Goldberg contended, “I don’t think this is about race,” as she appeared to take the side of traditional American values.
“This is really about all of the things that we believed we were doing that we don’t do anymore. We don’t teach people that it is your right, your birthright to vote in this country. It’s a gift. We don’t teach people what their rights are as human beings,” she continued.
“You’ve increased my taxes — given me nothing for it. You haven’t made it better — you’re making it worse. And then you’re surprised that people are going ‘basically I don’t feel like this is America anymore,'” Goldberg railed before adding, “It’s many, many things.”
