Portraying tens of millions of voters as dangerous fascists was an effective strategy in preventing the “red wave” that was predicted to decisively sweep Democrats out of power in the midterm elections, at least according to President Joe Biden’s top adviser who spiked the ball as the counting continued in key states.
Anita Dunn, who serves as Senior Adviser to the President of the United States celebrated the results of election week, joining host Chuck Todd on NBC’s flagship Sunday morning political talk show “Meet the Press” where she told the host that her boss’s demonization of Trump supporters – while criticized by some – was a major contributor to the strong showing by Democrats.
Biden’s harsh rhetoric toward those who didn’t support him became increasingly nasty as the election drew closer, gas prices and inflation being the top priority of voters, and his demagogic rant from Philadelphia’s Independence Hall where the man who promised unity stood in front of a blood red background flanked by two Marines to deliver his disgraceful rant. But according to Dunn, it struck the right chords with enough people to make a difference.
“I’m curious what you thought of the fact that there were sort of two distinct results in these midterms,” Todd asked. “Republicans that were far away from Trump did quite well. And obviously, those that were easily classified, I think the term the president used, ‘MAGA Republicans,’Â I think showed that that was a very effective message to push back on that. Do you think the Democrats and the president are ready to win a debate with a normal Republican?”
“You know, Chuck, when the president first started using the term ‘MAGA Republican’ back in May, there were a lot of pundits, a lot of people thought it wouldn’t work,” Dunn responded. “You know, Trump, former President Trump kind of adopted it himself. But it was a very effective strategy for kind of raising for the American people the hazards of going down that path with democracy denial, with the threats of political violence to achieve political ends, with an extremist program that involves denying women the right to an abortion.”
The problems for Trump supporters who have effectively been designated as enemies of the state could soon take a turn for the worst now that Democrats have seen that there was no political price to pay and with all the marbles in play in two years, Biden will only intensify his persecution of those who don’t bow down to his rule.

The former president is set to make his big announcement on whether he will run for the White House again on Tuesday, even as many Republicans have blamed him for the GOP failure to retake the Senate and win a substantial majority in the House.
There will be no moderation in the regime’s war on his supporters and even if he doesn’t end up with the 2024 nomination, the demonization campaign will be easily shifted to Republicans who back Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.
