Top Biden economic official calls gov’t job numbers a Trump lie. ABC News anchor: ‘It is from the Bureau of Labor’

A top Biden economic official was ridiculed by social media users for her jaw-dropping comments about major job revisions that show the rosy spin about the economy has all been disinformation.

Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo was being interviewed by ABC News at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago when anchor Kayna Whitworth brought up the agency’s adjustment acknowledging that 818,000 jobs that have been touted by the administration and its stooges never existed.

Whitworth played a clip of former President Donald J. Trump accusing the administration of lying about the numbers at a rally in North Carolina on Wednesday. “I am curious as to your thoughts on today the Bureau of Labor saying that more than 800,000 fewer jobs were actually created than initially reported,” she asked.

Raimondo, the former Democrat governor of Rhode Island, at first seemed to dismiss the GOP nominee’s remarks as misinformation before Whitworth informed her that they came from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

“No. When I hear that, first of all, I don’t believe it because I’ve never heard Donald Trump say anything truthful,” she said, the standard blame it on Trump response from a Democrat.

Whitworth responded, “It is from the Bureau of Labor.”

“I’m not familiar with that,” Raimondo said, even though the report had been issued hours earlier and was reported on for the last two days.

Incompetence has been a big characteristic of the DEI-obsessed Biden administration but it was still stunning to hear the ignorance – or a flat-out fib – about such a significant downward revision from one of the top economic officials in the country, and X users reacted.

“The administration padded the numbers with an extra – listen to this one – 818,000 jobs that don’t exist. So they said they existed and they never did exist. They built ‘em up so they could say what a wonderful job they’re doing,” Trump said of the cooked numbers.
