“Triumph The Insult Comic Dog” was all bite when he dropped in on the ladies of ABC’s “The View.”
Comedian Robert Smigel’s wise-cracking, cigar-smoking pooch puppet promptly poked fun at co-host Joy Behar’s age, dismissing any notions of him being a “good boy” during his visit.
“I was at Joy Behar’s 80th birthday party. I performed. Oh, what a night it was!” Triumph exclaimed. “It was open bar and open casket!”

Behar, who bills herself as a comedian, rolled her eyes.
“Joy, you and I both got so drunk, we were fighting over who got to sniff Hillary Clinton’s chair,” Triumph joked, as Behar’s jaw dropped and the audience rumbled.
But, like a dog with a juicy bone, Triumph wasn’t done yet.
“She still looks beautiful, doesn’t she?” he asked. “Eighty-one years old now.”
“Why do you keep saying my age?” Behar asked, looking slightly miffed.
“Joy, you realize you’re 81, you’re old enough to run for president… and to watch The View!” Triumph quipped. “You’re right in the demographic of The View now!”
You could have heard a pin drop.
“I kid,” Triumph said. “I kid. I love The View. It’s inspiring, it’s empowering. It’s a place – Women feel safe here, except from other women.”
And, though Smigel had to know from the co-host’s forced laughs that he was in the dog house, he pressed on, taking a swing at both the show’s reputation for being a “toxic” place, according to former co-host Meghan McCain, and another opportunity to zing Behar in one joke.
“It took 29 years for Joy to marry her husband… Clearly, being a co-host on ‘The View’ taught her not to get too attached to anybody,” he said.
‘He’s The Insult Dog,” an arguably unamused Behar told the audience, “That’s his thing.”
As the newest Republican to sit at the table, Alyssa Farah Griffin was up next.
“This show wasn’t affected by the actors’ strike, was it?” Triumph asked. “… I think you’re all excellent actors, like the way you four girls all act like you’re interested in Alyssa’s opinions.”
That one got a big laugh as Griffin gasped.
“She likes it,” Triumph assured the audience. “That’s one for the conservatives.”
“And that’s the only one!” Triumph added, an apparent dig at the “The View’s” typical view of non-liberals.
But Triumph is a bi-partisan biter: former Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) and Republican presidential candidates Donald Trump, Ron DeSantis, and Vivek Ramaswamy all got bark-outs from the snarky puppet, and suddenly Behar thought Triumph was funny again.
“My prediction: Vivek is going all the way,” Triumph declared. “All the way to the third round of ‘Dancing With the Stars.'”
On X, users were growling.
