True-to-brand Hillary Clinton scoffs at Durham’s bombshell as ‘desperate fake scandal’

Hillary Clinton wants you to know that we’ve all gotten John Durham’s latest bombshell court filing that connects her campaign to a plan to spy on and smear Donald Trump — in and out of the White House — is nothing but a Fox News-inspired, debunked conspiracy and she has the source to prove it: Vanity Fair.

That’s right, you fools. You’ve fallen for another “distraction” by the evil Right-wing Deplorables. It is, after all, a day that ends in “Y,” isn’t it?

In a single tweet that brings to mind her husband’s difficulties with the definition of “is,” Hillary has sourced a pop-culture fashion magazine to clear herself of any wrongdoing.

“Trump & Fox are desperately spinning up a fake scandal to distract from his real ones,” she tweeted. “So it’s a day that ends in Y. The more his misdeeds are exposed, the more they lie. For those interested in reality, here’s a good debunking of their latest nonsense.”

Let’s see what a “good debunking” looks like.

In the Vanity Fair article, journalist Bess Levin hits back at Durham’s meticulous, years-long investigation by first calling Donald Trump a “moron.”

Seriously. It’s in the subhead, before you even get into the article. So you just know, this is unbiased, serious investigative reporting Hillary has pointed us to.

And the “debunking” goes downhill from there.

Response to Hillary’s desperate attempt to deflect was swift and brutal, with many on Twitter able to do more than simply laugh.

The wildly popular Catturd tweeted: “Hillary is using a Vanity Fair article to try to debunk actual court filings by a special counsel… I can’t stop laughing.”

“I have two sources I always check when I’m looking for the truth,” tweeted another user. “Hillary Clinton and Vanity Fair.”

And ACT for America founder Brigitte Gabriel needed emojis to convey her thoughts about “Vanity Fair.”

But not everyone is laughing.

Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton wants an investigation.

“Mrs. Clinton, who has personally been the subject of at least two federal criminal investigations, should be asked about her campaign spying before a grand jury,” Fitton tweeted.

And Mike Davis tweeted: “U.S. Special Counsel John Durham was a federal prosecutor for 35 years. Both Democrat U.S. senators in Connecticut supported him to become the U.S. Attorney. One of @HillaryClinton’s campaign attorneys is under federal indictment.”

“Damning evidence,” Davis states. “Who’s desperately spinning?”

John Cardillo went one step further, asking Clinton: “You do realize that [it] was your husband who tapped Durham to be the US Attorney for the District of Connecticut on his Inauguration Day, 1997, right?”

“Your pathetic ‘bUH TwUMp eNn FoXXx” idiotic deflection won’t work here,” he added.

And this is the big lesson Hillary needs to take from this embarrassing situation.

The American people have grown a lot since 2016. They’ve been through a lot.

While American’s may have been content to let the “Orange Man Bad” narrative play itself out in the past, that time is gone.

We have waited years for Durham’s findings.

If you want to debunk them, you’ll have to do better than Vanity Fair.
