Trump attorney speaks out on new developments in Mar-a-Lago raid: ‘shouldn’t trust the FBI’

According to Donald Trump’s attorney, the Department of Justice failed to catch Trump “on any legal issue” when they raided his Mar-a-Lago estate and the former president “was cooperating” with the DOJ.

Appearing with Truth Social CEO Devin Nunes on Wednesday’s edition of  Fox News’s “Hannity,” attorney Alina Habba addressed a recent Wall Street Journal editorial in which the paper states “the FBI had no legally valid cause for the raid.”

“I don’t think that they did get him on any legal issue here, and that was the headline on the Wall Street Journal yesterday, which was dead-on accurate,” Habba stated. “You have to have a legal basis.”

“This is not theatrics,” she noted. “This is our country. This is the Constitution. So, what we saw was the trail, as in with the Mueller report that you just discussed, that is that they are hiding DOJ memos. They like to conceal them. They like to redact them. And then, when push comes to shove, they pretend that they are doing us a favor when it’s not a favor. It’s his constitutional right to say that these documents are declassified. He has that right. He doesn’t need to ask anybody else.”

“So, what is the basis?” she asked. “He was cooperating.”

As BizPac Review reported, “Just the News” founder John Solomon has uncovered damning documents which clearly show that President Biden and his administration were actively involved — along with some familiar names from the “Russia collusion” hoax — in the events that led to the FBI’s unprecedented raid of Trump’s private residence.

The former President took to his social media platform, Truth Social, to condemn the agency’s Big “NO, NO.”

“Remember, these are people who spied on my campaign, denied it, & got caught,” Trump wrote. “Through the great reporting of John Solomon (Fake Pulitzer Prize?), documents reveal they knew everything, in fact led the charge – a political NO, NO!”

Host Sean Hannity highlighted to Nunes that the office that led the raid on Mar-a-Lago is the “exact same FBI office that was involved in that Russia collusion falsehood that they perpetrated on the American people, the same exact people.”

“Why would we believe them now?” Hannity asked. “Why would we trust them now? And why weren’t any of those people held accountable?”

“Well look, we shouldn’t,” Nunes stated. “And [former FBI Deputy Assistant Director of Counterintelligence, Peter] Strzok and his team have been replaced by a new cabal, so I don’t know if they were trained by Strzok?”

Nunes pointed to the importance of FBI whistleblowers.

“But one of the things that I’ve been saying that Republicans are going to have to get ahold of — and ultimately, I think President Trump and his legal team are going to have to get ahold of — If it is indeed true that these agents worked for Mueller and they went on to the SDNY cases, they went on to January 6th, they went on to the raid at Mar-a-Lago, these people are no better than Strzok and Page,” he continued. “And hopefully it’s true that some FBI agents are now coming forward because that’s one thing we didn’t have back in the day of the Russia hoax, at the height of it.”

“But I’m also going to say this: The focus on Mueller should be focused on this–Mueller and his team should be under investigation. I called for it at the time, and I still call for it today,” the former congressman said. “I don’t know if Durham will ever get to them, but perhaps maybe some of these FBI agents are involved in this latest raid on Mar-a-Lago.”
