Trump ‘can be president from jail if he has to.’ Speculation rises as voters rally.

Republican frontrunner Donald J. Trump’s political enemies are determined to have him locked up by the time of this November’s election but that shouldn’t deter voters in the opinion of one Fox News contributor.

During a conversation about the upcoming GOP primaries and whether the dozens of indictments brought against Trump by rabidly partisan prosecutors will impact his chances, Dr. Janette Nesheiwat said that Trump can “be president from jail if he has to” if the worst case scenario of the Biden regime going full banana republic comes to fruition.

On Monday’s edition of “Outnumbered,” retired NYPD inspector Paul Mauro rejected the idea that some that “a lot of the voters want to get past the drama” involving the former president “just want to go on to a candidate that they feel comfortable with,” an argument that was put forth by establishment darling Nikki Haley among others.

“I think that’s a misconception. I think that a lot of Republicans, especially primary voters, are reacting to the drama and saying, ‘These prosecutions are selective, this Colorado nonsense shouldn’t stand, it’s splitting the country, and I’m going for him,’” Mauro said.

“I still think it’s his to lose and I think that by the time we get through the first three and we get to Super Tuesday it’s gonna be Donald Trump likely left standing,” he added.

“All right, so what happens if he’s indicted at some point?” Kennedy asked.

“He can be president from jail if he has to,” Nesheiwat responded. “But I think to your point, Paul, despite all the threats, despite all the charges, Republicans are still rallying around Donald Trump.”

“Even if they stoop so low out of fear and desperation because they have no other choice, they have no other nominee other than Biden, they know that he’s going to end up being the nominee,” she continued. “They’re taking all these actions, look at the FBI raid in Mar-a-Lago, trying to kick him off the Colorado ballot, you know, these frivolous charges by our district attorney here in New York and in Georgia, but I think it comes down, yes, in two weeks, the Iowa caucus.”

“This is going to be the first major electoral event where voters have the opportunity to express their preference for a presidential candidate and if they perform well that might give them momentum, that might you know, possibly influence subsequent primaries and might possibly mold the trajectory of their campaign so let’s see what that shows,” Nesheiwat concluded.

“No, I don’t really. I don’t even think about it. I’m built a little differently, I guess. Because I have had people come up to me and ask me ‘how do you do it, sir?’ I don’t even think about it,” Trump said when asked if he was worried about going to jail by “Meet the Press” host Kristen Welker during an NBC News interview in September.

“These are corrupt people that I’m dealing with. They’re destroying our country. All I think about is making the country great, making America great. Look, these are banana republic indictments. These are third-world indictments,” Trump said.
