Republican frontrunner Donald J. Trump criticized President Joe Biden for his excessive time spent away from the White House on the regular vacations that have been a fixture of this tenure at the nation’s helm.
The former president’s remarks came during a lengthy interview with conservative outlet Breitbart News that took place last Thursday at Mar-a-Lago, his scenic resort in South Florida.
Trump said that instead of reversing all of his policies shortly after he took office the country would be far better off today had Biden just left the policies in place and gone to the beach, especially when it comes to the southern border and the worsening illegal immigration crisis.
“If Biden only would have gone to that beach he goes to so much and just sat there trying to lift the chair, which weighs about three ounces,” that “things would be better for the country,” he told the outlet.
Biden has arrived in the U.S. Virgin Islands, where he’ll spend the rest of the year at the beach.

Trump was then asked about Biden’s latest vacation, a trip to the Virgin Islands where he and First Lady Jill Biden are marinating in the balmy Caribbean climate at the beachfront home of high-rolling Democrat donors, and the octogenarian Democrat’s spending nearly a third of the just concluded year “totally checked out.”
“I have to say, when I take vacations I’m always working,” Trump said, noting that when he took vacations as president they were of the working type. “This is really the Southern White House. I have meetings left, right, and all day. Even if I’m playing golf, I’m always playing golf with somebody who is important like heads of countries, senators, et cetera. But it’s all work.”
“This guy takes a vacation and he doesn’t talk to anybody,” Trump added. “They say, ‘He’ll call you in two or three weeks because he’s on vacation.’ Did you know that? People call him and they say he’ll try getting back to you in the next two to three weeks because he’s on vacation.”

According to a New York Post report, the 81-year-old Biden spent over a third of 2023 checked out, a key characteristic of the aging leader’s management style with him being at either one of his Delaware homes or elsewhere for a whopping 138 days, 37 percent of the year.
Based on the outlet’s review of public records, the president spent 90 days at either his Wilmington mansion or his vacation digs in Rehoboth Beach along with 22 days on official vacation, including stays in Lake Tahoe, Nantucket, and St. Croix as well as 26 days at Camp David.
Despite his frequent absences from the White House, the Post found that Biden’s time away was actually down from 2022 when he spent 38 percent of the year away from Washington, D.C. at the same locations.
Asked for his New Year’s resolution over the weekend, Biden told reporters that it would be to return to the Virgin Islands for another vacation.
