Trump shares a hilarious take on TDS after offering unexpected advice on running for office

Former President Donald Trump appeared at the Moms for Liberty Joyful Warriors National Summit in Washington, D.C., Friday evening and offered an unexpected answer when asked for advice on running for office.

In a “fireside chat” with Moms for Liberty Co-Founder Tiffany Justice, Trump laid bare the toll he has been forced to pay for entering the political arena in post-Obama America while giving a hilarious take on Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS).

“Did you ever think about running for office at other times in your lives? And then just some advice because you come under fire a lot,” Justice said. “Our moms are standing for things that often the media attacks them on. We’d love to get some advice from you about running for office.”

The conservative group supports local school board candidates and announced plans this year to spend more than $3 million on a multi-state advertising blitz to increase membership and engage voters before November, according to the Associated Press.

“So I would say, don’t do it,” Trump replied to the mock horror of Justice.

“No. Run for office,” she told the moms in attendance while laughing. “We want you to run for office.”

“I do say this though, it is nastier to run as a Republican,” the 2024 GOP nominee said, before following up with a his thoughts on TDS.

“It is… now I’m the ultimate, you know, I mean, they suffer from a thing called TDS. Do you know what that is?” Trump asked. “TDS — it’s a horrible, horrible terminal disease. It destroys the mind. It destroys the mind before the body, but the body eventually goes. TDS — Trump derangement syndrome.”

Trump expressed his support for parents’ rights in the face of many schools embracing the LGBTQ agenda and “gender-affirming” care for youth.

“The parents truly love the kids,” he said. “Some of these people on the boards, I think they don’t like the kids very much … you have to give the rights back to the parents.”
