Trump strikes back with ‘Biden’s Border Bloodbath’ ad

There’s the political exploitation of the term bloodbath and then there’s true-to-life bloodbaths, and the Trump campaign took the time to stress the difference in a stinging ad detailing the fallout from a wide open southern border.

Titled Biden’s Border Bloodbath, the spot highlights a number of recent incidents involving illegal immigrants, including the death of a 12-year-old boy, sexual assault, and the arrest of brutal murderers in the United States illegally.

The ad is a counter to what former President Donald Trump suggested was a “fake news media” hoax over a remark he made about a bloodbath for American automakers if China is allowed to build cars in Mexico and sell them in the U.S. The media ran with the dishonest perception that Trump was calling for a bloodbath in America if he is not elected president for a second time in November.

“The Fake News Media, and their Democrat Partners in the destruction of our Nation, pretended to be shocked at my use of the word BLOODBATH,” Trump wrote on Truth Social, “even though they fully understood that I was simply referring to imports allowed by Crooked Joe Biden, which are killing the automobile industry.”

The Trump campaign did not include the case that has gotten the most attention around the country, which involves the death of Laken Riley — an illegal immigrant from Venezuela was arrested for the brutal murder of the Georgia nursing student.

Riley’s father spoke out this week about his unhappiness over his daughter’s death being “used” in the political debate about the crisis on the border.

The family met with Trump earlier this month ahead of a rally in Georgia:

“I met her beautiful mother and family backstage,” he said during the rally. “They said she was like the best. She was always the best to us. They admit that she was the best, and she was the first in her class. She was going to be the best nurse. She was the best nursing student. She was always the best. She was the brightest light in every room, they told me.”

Trump added, “She was the whole world to her parents and to her sister and just to the whole family.”
