Tucker Carlson slammed Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) as a “liar” and an example of “why everyone hates Washington” over what he suggested is hypocritical praise of Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) who could be the future vice president.
Two days after he was nearly assassinated, Republican Party presidential nominee Donald J. Trump announced that he had chosen Vance as his running mate, a pick that judging by the reaction from leftists was the right one.
In a Monday post to X, Carlson shared a congratulatory post from Graham in which he gushed with praise over his Ohio colleague, stating that the South Carolina Republican was among those who were lobbying against Vance, right up until the end.
Lindsey Graham is a liar. No one lobbied harder against JD Vance than he did, and in the sleaziest, most vicious way. He was doing it this morning. This is why everyone hates Washington, because people like Lindsey Graham are happy to lie right to your face, smiling as they plot… https://t.co/KqHziS5dSd

“Lindsey Graham is a liar. No one lobbied harder against JD Vance than he did, and in the sleaziest, most vicious way. He was doing it this morning. This is why everyone hates Washington, because people like Lindsey Graham are happy to lie right to your face, smiling as they plot your destruction. It’s disgusting,” Carlson wrote.
Carlson reacted to the news that Trump had tapped Vance during a Monday speech at an event hosted by the conservative Heritage Foundation.

“J.D. Vance is the VP pick, and I think every person who pays close attention has gotta be thrilled by that,” he said. “And if you don’t know much about J.D. Vance, I’m not even gonna make a case for J.D. Vance…every bad person in a lifetime in Washington was aligned against J.D. Vance.”
“It’s a lot easier to tell who the people who are only in it because they like, I don’t know, killing other people in pointless wars,” Carlson added. “I know who those people are, and their odor is so powerful that I can smell one when he walks in the room.”
“And every single one of those people, in a line that would extend from Milwaukee to Chicago, was lined up over the last week to knife J.D. Vance,” Carlson said. “Because they thought he would be harder to manipulate and slightly less enthusiastic about killing people.”
“That he’d be an impediment to exercising power, and boy they went after him in a way I’ve just kinda never seen,” he said.
“It seems like everything has aligned in the period of three days that Donald Trump is going to be the next President,” Carson said in another Monday post to X.

All the right people hate Vance and it’s pretty easy to see why from remarks he made about Ukraine in an interview with now unjustly imprisoned conservative commentator Steve Bannon last year.
“We’re getting easily a half $1 trillion in the hole for the Ukraine conflict. By the time this is done, and Steve, at the very same time, you have people in this town saying we need to cut Social Security. There are people who would cut Social Security, throw our grandparents into poverty. Why? So that one of Zelensky’s ministers can buy a bigger yacht. Kiss my ass, Steve. It’s not happening,” Trump’s future running mate said.
