‘Unprepared for office’: Kamala Harris comes off as empty vessel in first solo interview

Taking the guardrails off resulted in a “truly staggering” appearance for the vice president as a new campaign interview raised alarms about how “unprepared for the office” she appeared.

In the weeks since Vice President Kamala Harris took over the top of the ticket for the Democratic Party, the second iteration of the basement campaign had rarely ventured from the safety of scripted moments.

Between teleprompter speeches, avoiding press pools, a tag team interview and a 3-on-1 debate with former President Donald Trump, the not ready for primetime nominee’s first solo spotlight supported what many already suspected of the word salad queen.

Friday, she met with anchor Brian Taff of 6ABC Philadelphia’s Action News for another pre-taped softball sit down that reemphasized who deliberately the campaign was leaning into vibes and feelings over actual policy positions.

The rambling responses, particularly one where she was asked about economic relief, prompted The Daily Wire’s Ryan Saavedra to react, “This interview that Kamala Harris gave is truly staggering. Never have seen a politician this nervous, this unprepared for the office they are running for, and this clueless headed into an election. Kind of scary to be honest.”

During the interview, Taff had asked, “When we talk about bringing down prices and making life more affordable for people, what are one or two specific things you have in mind for that?”

“Well, I’ll start with this,” began the White House hopeful’s journey on the scenic route avoiding accountability. “I grew up a middle-class kid. My mother raised my sister and me. She worked very hard. She was able to finally save up enough money to buy our first house when I was a teenager.”

“I grew up in a community of hard-working people, you know, construction workers and nurses and teachers. And I try to explain to some people who may not have had the same experience. You know, a lot people will relate to this.”

Eventually, she meandered her way to her so-called “Opportunity Economy” by bringing up proposals about tax deductions for new businesses and down payment assistance for first-time home buyers.

Much like the interview with CNN’s Dana Bash that had been trimmed down from 45 minutes to little more than a third, Grabien founder Tom Elliot had juxtaposed the contrast between Harris’ answer and what was re-aired as corporate media continued to cover for the shortcomings of the coronated nominee.

As others sounded off about how terrible her performance was, the lack of defense she was getting from her own supporters over it and the reality that Democrats had made this bed by avoiding a sincere primary process, so now they were gonna have to sleep in it, even Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) saw fit to rip the ticket topper as he reacted, “She’s adding some vapid vinaigrette to her usual word salad…”
