Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin recently nominated an Indian immigrant and engineer to serve on the Virginia Board of Education.
Yet last Tuesday, the Democrat-run Virginia Senate voted to reject Youngkin’s nomination of Suparna Dutta. Why? Because of her alleged ties to white supremacy.
No joke …
“Her nomination was defeated by an amendment introduced by Sen. Ghazala Hashmi. Ms. Hashmi cited Ms. Dutta’s supposed ‘alignment’ with ‘very extreme and right-wing white supremacist groups,'” according to The Wall Street Journal.
“The vote to kill her nomination came a week after a heated dispute with board member Anne Holton, Sen. Tim Kaine’s wife. Among Ms. Dutta’s ‘controversial’ remarks was her criticism of socialism and defending the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. Never mind that Ms. Dutta lived under socialism in India.”
Dutta also dared to argue that schools should promote “traditional American values” versus the “woke” garbage that passes for an “education” these days.

She also has a history of standing up to anti-Asian hate.
“Dutta gained prominence as a critic of equity-based admissions policies at Northern Virginia’s elite Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology, which has been accused of discriminating against Asian American applicants in its efforts to boost enrollment of black students and other underrepresented minority groups,” according to the Virginia Mercury.
She’s basically against affirmative action, and the reason why is because affirmative action constitutes an actual form of modern-day racism and bigotry. This has made her the enemy of Virginia Democrats, who for their part are advocates for the “woke” racial essentialism that undergirds affirmative action.
Especially since a lawsuit filed on behalf of her and other local parents turned out to be successful when a federal district court ruled that “the [school] Board [had] defaulted to a system that treats applicants unequally in hopes of engineering a particular racial outcome,” according to the Herzog Foundation’s The Lion publication.
This policy “cut Asian student admissions by 19 percent” over a one year period, according to Mike Ginsberg, the chairman of the local GOP.
Dutta’s “sin” was suing the Fairfax County School Board over its new admissions policy for Thomas Jefferson High School of Science and Technology, which the plaintiffs’ claim discriminates against Asian students.

Democrats’ decision to reject Dutta prompted immediate backlash from Gov. Youngkin.
“They voted to remove Suparna Dutta, shockingly claiming that a public school parent isn’t qualified to serve on the Board of Education. She is a mother and advocate for parents’ rights, she is an immigrant and an advocate for Asian American rights, she is an engineer and advocate for STEM in education,” he said in a statement.
“She is not only qualified, she epitomizes parental involvement in our schools and we need her voice on our Board of Education,” he added.
Lt. Gov. Winsome Sears, a black woman who was also smeared over her fictional ties to white supremacy, also spoke out.
“Think about it, folks. She and I would both be lynched by the KKK. But there are people who would call us white supremacists. Why do you think they do that? They do that because they think you’re a fool. They do that for their own agenda, because it’s all about power and control. Make no mistake about it. Are there white supremacists? Of course there are. That’s what we’re fighting against. But if they can start labeling people, and they think you won’t do your homework, then they’ve won,” she said.
“Don’t let the haters win. They must never win, because when they take control, you’re in trouble too. That’s what happens with these types of revolutionaries. They tell you you’re not seeing what you’re actually seeing. They’re trying to revise the truth. The KKK will come after me, will come after Suparna, and they tried to destroy this woman. An Indian woman. They tried to destroy her and her reputation on the floor of the Senate.”

Dutta herself also spoke out.
“I thought people celebrated diversity. Whether it’s diversity of thought, diversity of viewpoint or diversity of any of the many characteristics? I’m flummoxed,” she said to Fox News.
