Vivek Ramaswamy offers up ‘brilliant analysis’ on what caused J6 and it isn’t Trump

Presidential hopeful Vivek Ramaswamy gave what some are calling a “brilliant analysis” of the reasons behind the January 6, 2021, chaos at the Capitol, claiming “pervasive censorship” in the year leading up to the infamous incident was to blame for the unrest.

“You tell people in this country they cannot speak, that is when they scream. You tell people they cannot scream, that is when they tear things down,” Ramaswamy told Tucker Carlson during Blaze Media’s GOP “FAMiLY Leadership Summit” on Friday.

“The reality is, we were told that you could not question where the virus came from, when we all knew it came from a lab in Wuhan, which now they admit,” he explained. “We were told that you could not send a private message to someone on the eve of an election that Hunter Biden’s laptop story was actually a true story worth considering before an election.”

“You were systematically suppressed,” the author and entrepreneur said.

“Think about this,” he continued, “you were told you had to be locked down, had to take a vaccine that was mandated and forced down your throat, stay locked down in your home while Antifa and BLM roamed and burned the streets of this country.”

“So that’s the leadup of one full year of telling people you have to shut up, sit down, and do as you’re told, and then you tell them, okay, there’s an election where you didn’t get the information that you needed, such as the Hunter Biden laptop story being real and suppressed — that’s what caused January 6th,” he stated. “A cycle of censorship in this country, and until we look ourselves in the mirror and admit truth on that, we will not move forward as a country.”

“I think until we reckon with that reality,” he added, “I worry that that is the beginning, it’s a friendly parlay compared to what’s to come unless we step up and speak truth, restore integrity, and actually lead us to who we are as a people rather than sweeping the truth under the rug.”

The nation’s first GenZ candidate for the White House received rounds of applause for his insightful answer, a sentiment that was echoed on Twitter.


But some critics aren’t all-in for Ramaswamy just yet. Some worry about his previous stances, specifically regarding COVID, the jab and masking, and whether they can trust what he’s saying now that the man is vying for the White House.

“Vivek made all his money in bio labs,” one user claimed. “He was big on the shot. He was big on masking. And he’s surrounded himself with people who were some of the most authoritarian… I’m very nervous about this guy.”

Indeed, Ramaswamy did seem rather supportive of the masking of America back in 2020, though he was critical of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

“Wearing a mask = personal responsibility,” he tweeted. “It’s puzzling when conservatives oppose it.”

“But before deriding them, remember this,” Ramaswamy added, “CDC and WHO discouraged wearing masks in March – a ‘noble lie’ to save masks for healthcare workers. Institutional lying erodes public trust in science.”
