Warner declares ‘people will die’ if Senate Intel panel not briefed on damage assessment of Trump docs

Senator Mark Warner (D-Va.), chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, claims “people will die” if the committee isn’t briefed on the damage that materials the FBI seized from Mar-a-Lago may have caused.

Warner and Republican Vice Chairman of the intel committee Mark Rubio are requesting that the Justice Department brief them on potential breaches of classified information that may have occurred in the two years that former President Donald Trump was in possession of the materials.

On Sunday’s “Face the Nation,” Warner wildly speculated that it could be a matter of life and death.

“‘I believe it is our congressional duty to have that oversight,” Warner told CBS host Margaret Brennan.

“Remember what’s at stake here is the fact that if some of these documents involved human intelligence, and that information got out, people will die,” he stated dramatically. “If there were penetration of our signals intelligence, literally years of work could be destroyed.”

“We talk about the enormous advances our intelligence community has made helping our Ukrainian friends,” he continued. “That comes about because we share intelligence. If there’s intelligence that has been shared with us by our allies and that is mishandled, all of that could be in jeopardy.”

That’s a whole lot of “ifs,” and even Warner admitted, “we still don’t know what’s in those documents.”

As American Wire reported, both the DOJ and attorneys for President Trump submitted to the U.S. Southern District Court of Florida their picks for a special master who would be tasked with reviewing the seized documents but disagreed on what that person should actually do once selected.

While Team Trump believes the special master should review all of the materials, including those with classification markings, and should examine the items for potential claims of Executive Privilege, the DOJ maintains that the appointee shouldn’t have access to classified materials or adjudicate claims of privilege.

The two sides are also at odds over the need for the special master to consult with the National Archives and Records Administration.

According to Warner, the wrangling has delayed the approval for the briefing he seeks.

“It is my understanding is there is some question because of the special master appointment by the judge in Florida, whether they can brief at this point,” he said. “We need clarification on that from that judge as quickly as possible because it is essential that the Intelligence Committee leadership, at least, gets a briefing of the damage assessment.”

Online, the notion that operatives have already and will continue to die as a result of Trump’s “mishandling” of the documents is spreading, without any substantiation whatsoever, like wildfire.

“Murderous #traitorTrump,” declared one user on Twitter.

Others attacked Brennan for suggesting that we don’t have a clue what the documents contained or if “human intelligence” was even involved.

“This woman sitting there calling the Senator a liar, saying ‘We don’t know that,” ranted one user. “Who the hell do these TV ‘hosts’ think they are? DESPICABLE.”

“It’s entirely possible that people have already died,” another user cried.

It’s a disturbing testament to the left’s insatiable desire to see Trump trashed, with or without evidence that he has done anything wrong.

One Twitter user even wants to see the judge who sided with Trump’s arguments that a special master be appointed to face jail time.

Hey, it’s 2022 and Joe Biden is in the White House, right? Why should facts slow down a carefully crafted narrative?
