As a Biden administration White House spokesperson, Ian Sams excels at the Democratic art of accusing others of what they routinely do.
Twisting perceptions and gaslighting Americans is Sams’ jam, and the Special Assistant to President Joe Biden is shameless about it.
When faced with testimony from former CIA Deputy Director Michael Morell that then-Biden campaign senior advisor Antony Blinken — now the nation’s Secretary of State — was “the impetus” of a public statement crafted to discredit the damning information on Hunter Biden’s forgotten laptop and sway the 2020 election in his boss’s favor, Sams wasn’t even rattled.
He simply accused House Judiciary Committee Republicans and Chairman Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) of making a “highly misleading selective leak” in a bid to get on Fox News.
“In October 2020, weeks before the presidential election, dozens of ex-national security officials signed onto a letter claiming that Hunter’s laptop had ‘all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation,'” the House Judiciary Committee posted to its website. “The former officials included former Obama CIA Director John Brennan, former Obama DNI James Clapper, and former CIA director, then-Defense Secretary Leon Panetta, among others.”
Following Morell’s testimony, on Thursday, Jordan and House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Turner (R-Ohio) penned a letter to Blinken.

“We are examining that public statement signed by 51 former intelligence officials that falsely discredited a New York Post story regarding Hunter Biden’s laptop as supposed Russian disinformation,” the letter read. “As part of our oversight, we have learned that you played a role in the inception of this statement while serving as a Biden campaign advisor, and we therefore request your assistance with our oversight.”
According to the Republicans, Morell’s testimony made it “apparent” that Biden’s campaign “played an active role in the origins of the public statement, which had the effect of helping to suppress the Hunter Biden story and preventing American citizens from making a fully informed decision during the 2020 presidential election.”
Sams jumped into action and, pointing to an out-of-context snippet from a “fuller transcript” released by the House Judiciary Committee, accused the Republicans of being “highly misleading.”
“Wow,” Sams tweeted. “Fuller transcript newly released by @HouseJudiciary reveals this was a highly misleading selective leak by @Jim_Jordan, @RepMikeTurner and @JudiciaryGOP.”
“This isn’t surprising about @Jim_Jordan,” Sams continued. “He has a long, well-documented history of highly misleading leaks to manipulate media to advance his partisan political goals.”
“I guess the question is why some in the media keep falling for it,” he added.

Given the “strategic leaks” from Democrats to the media on just about every subject from the Russian collusion hoax to the Supreme Court’s draft of the Dobbs opinion, Sams must consider himself an expert on the subject.
But unlike the Democrats’ goal of creating chaos and destroying former President Donald Trump, Sams claims Jordan just wants to “weaponize” the Judiciary Committee’s power to get on Fox News again.
“Think about this: instead of working with President Biden on solutions to real problems Americans care about – like lowering costs or tackling gun violence – House Republicans keep weaponizing their power to re-litigate the 2020 election in a wacky strategy to get on Fox News,” Sams tweeted.
“Literally,” he stated, “the entire strategy is ‘how do I get myself on Fox prime time tonight?'”

Though it was a stellar shot at obfuscating the facts, Sams’ take on the Blinken news failed to impress.
“Literally you’re entire strategy is to blabber on about Fox News when there are real serious issues going on you should be addressing,” replied one Twitter user. “Doesn’t seem like a good plan Ian.”
“The strategy is locking you all up for treason,” stated another.
And a third made it clear that Sams was fooling no one.
“We all see who you are,” the user wrote. “The veil is lifted & you are all exposed. Perhaps you escape justice for now, but everyone knows who you are.”
