‘What the hell is going on?’ Candace Owens’ curiosity piques after death of 3rd cryptocurrency billionaire

The unexpected deaths of a number of cryptocurrency businessmen are being looked upon by many with great skepticism, including conservative commentator Candace Owens who is asking, “That the hell is going on?”

The latest to meet his demise is Russian billionaire entrepreneur Vyacheslav Taran, who died “in mysterious circumstances after his helicopter crashed in good weather near Monaco,” the Daily Mail reported.

Taran, 53, died after the helicopter took a dive Friday near the resort town of Villefranche-sur-Mer after taking off from Lausanne in Switzerland. Adding to the mystery is that another passenger canceled at the last minute, according to the British tabloid. He lived in Monaco for the past ten years and is survived by his wife, Olga, and their three children.

He is the third cryptocurrency entrepreneur to die in the past few weeks, with the Daily Mail reporting: “Tiantian Kullander, 30, died ‘in his sleep’ last week, while fellow crypto millionaire Nikolai Mushegian, 29, drowned on a Puerto Rico beach after tweeting that he feared the CIA and Mossad were going to murder him.”

Kullander was the co-founder of Amber Group, a cryptocurrency trading platform with a recently accessed value of $3 billion. The newspaper also noted that the Ukrainian news agency UNIAN claimed Taran had “likely ties to the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service,” though they produced no evidence to support the claim.

But that will be enough for some to claim Vladimir Putin is behind the mystery — after all, he is blamed for pretty much everything these days. There have been a number of mysterious deaths involving Russian businessmen since the start of Russia’s war in Ukraine.

More from the Daily Mail:

Earlier this month, Viktor Cherkesov, 72, a close KGB spy and mentor of Vladimir Putin who was demoted after publicly criticising the Kremlin leader, died from an unexplained ‘serious disease’.

Recent deaths also include Ivan Pechorin, 39, director of the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation, who ‘fell overboard’ from his yacht in September.

Pavel Pchelnikov, 52, a PR manager for the Russian Railways, was shot dead in his Moscow apartment the same month, and Alexander Tyulakov, 61, a senior Gazprom executive, was found hanged at his house, also in Moscow.

It was the death of Taran that appears to have prompted Owens’ intervention.

“Crypto millionaire Nikolai Mushegian, died mysteriously in a drowning after tweeting that he feared the CIA and Mossad were going to murder him,” she tweeted. “Now, two more crypto billionaires have died in mysterious circumstances. What the hell is going on?”

Owens would also share the final tweet from Mushegian.

“This man is now dead. He was a crypto millionaire named Nikolai Mushegian. He died in a mysterious drowning in Puerto Rico—4 hours after sending this tweet. He was fully clothed and had his wallet on him. These are the facts,” she wrote.

The whole sordid affair was enough to get the conspiratorial juices flowing and drive the urge to reach for the nearest tinfoil hat. Given the recent history of the U.S. intelligence apparatus, it also drew plenty of finger-pointing being directed at the CIA.
