Progressive filmmaker Michael Moore was called out by the White House for making perhaps the “dumbest statement of the year.”
The leftist director and screenwriter’s criticism of President Donald Trump’s efforts to deport illegal immigrants was met with a scathing rebuke from the White House, blasting the “disgraced” activist for arguing in favor of allowing the migrants to stay in the U.S. illegally because of their potential contributions.
“Who’s really being removed by ICE tonight?” Moore asked in a blog post published Tuesday titled, “Our Muslim Boy Wonder.”
“The child who would’ve discovered the cure for cancer in 2046? The 9th-grade nerd who would’ve stopped that asteroid that’s gonna hit us in 2032? Do we care?” he wrote, wondering who would then save the world from “the asteroid that’s gonna hit us in 2032.”

“For every time I have heard a negative word or blatant hatred spewed toward those who came from afar, I have felt that I should pause, get down on one knee, and thank all of those who gave up their lives elsewhere to come here and be with us,” the 70-year-old declared.
The White responded with a truth bomb.
“In a strong contender for dumbest statement of the year, disgraced ‘filmmaker’ Michael Moore lamented illegal immigrant criminals being apprehended because they might’ve ‘discovered the cure for cancer’ or ‘stopped that asteroid,’” the White House statement said. “The only thing more foolish than that statement are the politicians who oppose the deportations.”

The statement was accompanied by a list of criminal illegal immigrants arrested including nine child sex predators and rapists, kidnappers, murderers, and gang members.
Michael Moore cries over deported illegals who could’ve ‘cured cancer.’ Reality check: child rapists, murderers, MS-13 thugs, and terrorists. These are the ‘heroes’ he’s defending. Wake up, America—this is who’s crossing our borders. pic.twitter.com/an3XuxPYUX

Tom Homan blasted Moore during an appearance on Fox News’s “Hannity,” suggesting the filmmaker speak with the families of victims of the criminals.
“I wish Michael Moore would talk to an Angel mom and dad…I’ve talked to hundreds of them, American citizen parents who buried their children because their children [were] murdered and raped by an illegal alien,” Homan said.
❌ Michael Moore is worried ICE will deport the person who might cure cancer.
What he should be concerned about is all the victims and the families of those who were brutally killed by illegal criminals.

Social media users added to the pile-on of criticism.
Michael Moore says deported migrants “MAY have cured cancer.”
Well we know some of them DEFINITELY committed murder, so we’ll take our chances.

I thought they were here to pick our crops. How do they go from that to curing cancer? Besides, didn’t Biden say he was going to cure cancer?
— SoylentGreen (@QueerForSpace) February 26, 2025
Well Michael, if they had the key to curing cancer and they refused to share it, I don’t want them.
— Steve Picray (@stevepicray) February 25, 2025
Sounds good Michael, now apply this to the 63 MILLION aborted people over the past 51 years….
— Steve Picray (@stevepicray) February 25, 2025
This is such a stupid argument by Moore.
What if…one of the people killed or injured by those gang members or criminals… was the the key to curing cancer or stopping an asteroid?
That’s actually WAY more likely!

Those future pioneers can still cure cancer and deflect asteroids wherever they live.

The man is right! I mean… We may have accidentally deported a unicorn that can poop rainbow colored cotton candy. Who knows.
Michael, thank you so much for waking us all up!
