After inviting the Las Vegas Aces to the White House as the 2022 reigning champions, President Biden insultingly handed them off to Vice President Kamala Harris so he could extend his play in Tahoe.
Following President Biden and first lady Jill Biden making a show of hosting the team, they were unceremoniously palmed off on second-stringer Harris, which demonstrates how little they seem to care about the WNBA.

The invitation to the White House was extended to the team on July 17. Las Vegas Aces President Nikki Fargas told a local ABC affiliate that her team was “excited and honored” to attend the ceremony.
“I know that all of our players and front office staff who worked so hard to help build that championship team and elevate this franchise will enjoy taking part in the festivities,” Fargas proclaimed.

When a team goes to the White House to be honored, they typically expect the president to greet them. It’s the highlight of the visit. Somehow, getting stuck with Harris seems like a backhanded insult.
Fox News reporter Peter Doocy pointed out that originally the podium displayed the president’s seal but it was swapped out for the vice president’s when Biden decided on extending yet another vacation… this time in Lake Tahoe where he was not well-received.

“When they initially announced this event, it said the president and the first lady were going to host the Aces today, but then they extended their vacation, they were supposed to get back yesterday,” he stated.
“Now they don’t get back until tomorrow, so that is how you wind up getting feted at the White House by the vice president, instead of by the president. We don’t know what he’s doing today, but his motorcade is on the move somewhere in the South Lake Tahoe area,” Doocy reported.
Harris cackled throughout the ceremony and made extremely lame jokes.

USA Today reported, “In addition to their on-court success, Harris used most of her remarks to commend the efforts of the Aces, and the WNBA at large, on the issues of social justice, voting rights, equal pay and the ‘ferocious’ mobilization during Phoenix Mercury forward Brittney Griner’s wrongful detainment in Russia last year.”
“Our nation’s stronger because of your leadership,” Harris declared. “For example, when an American citizen was wrongfully detained abroad, you organized and advocated in a ferocious extraordinary way. You organized folks, you lifted up the issue, you helped educate folks about what was at stake, all in support of Brittney Griner.”
Biden cut off part of his vacation to trot off to Maui for a photo-op that was a massive insult to the survivors of the wildfire that left Lahaina a mass graveyard where cadaver dogs are still searching for hundreds of bodies.

The president had the nerve to recount a time when he almost lost his Corvette to a small kitchen fire. He even kidded about how hot the ground was. All of that came two weeks after the fire ravaged the area.
After that grandstanding, he hoofed it back to Tahoe instead of hosting the WNBA.
Getting stuck with Harris had to be disappointing for the team but was pretty much unsurprising to most of America. Nevertheless, team members and others posted their gratitude online for the experience:
