Yet ANOTHER Dem convicted of fraud… it’s hard to keep up!

Democrats are becoming synonymous with unethical, even fraudulent actions, it would seem.

Look no further than the state of Colorado, where former Democratic state Sen. Sonya Jaquez Lewis was convicted of four felony charges, one count of attempting to influence a public figure, and three counts of forgery.

Lewis was accused of mistreating employees in her office in 2024, which prompted an investigation into her conduct. Subsequently, the former Democratic lawmaker reportedly submitted fake letters of support to the legislative committee tasked with that investigation. The letters were intended to counter the claims of a toxic work environment. She resigned after the committee announced that at least one of the letters was fabricated, according to The Colorado Sun.

Being a Democrat, there were also financial concerns, with the Sun reporting that last year Lewis “agreed to pay nearly $3,000 to the Colorado Secretary of State’s Office to settle allegations she violated campaign finance laws,” after admitting to failing to report campaign spending on several occasions.

“She also admitted to using campaign funds to hire a staffer to campaign on behalf of another candidate, which is prohibited,” the newspaper reported.

Sentencing was set for Feb. 27, and Lewis faces up to six years in prison and a $500,000 fine for the more serious charge of attempting to influence a public service, a Class 4 felony. However, prosecutors plan to ask that she be sentenced to probation.

Also taking place this week, Oklahoma state Rep. Ajay Pittman resigned from office in disgrace on Wednesday after pleading guilty to three felonies related to a decision to submit a forged, fake $2,500 cashier’s check to the Oklahoma Ethics Commission in June. Pittman had been busted earlier for using campaign donations on personal expenses like dining and clothing.

Florida Rep. Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick, another Democrat, will likely face an expulsion vote next week over allegations of campaign finance violations.

“Cherfilus-McCormick was indicted in November by a grand jury,” according to The Hill. “She is accused of stealing $5 million in Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) funds and using some of it to fund her campaign.”

Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story, as seen on X:
