President Biden is expected to pick former North Carolina health secretary Mandy Cohen — a woman who has been described as “the face of evil” — to head up the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
“Biden’s formal announcement is expected later this month, after White House officials finalize Cohen’s paperwork,” three sources told The Washington Post.
Cohen served under the Obama administration as chief operating officer and chief of staff at the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Axios reports, and, according to WaPo, she will face “enormous challenges: reforming a sprawling agency to make it more responsive to the next pandemic and communicating the latest science on public health threats to Americans at a time of extreme political divisions and fading trust in government.”
As BizPac Review reported, Dr. Rochelle Walensky submitted her resignation as CDC chief in early May and will be stepping down at the end of this month.

A divisive, duplicitous leader during the COVID-19 pandemic, many were thrilled to see Walensky leave, but some suggest her replacement may be even worse.
While her predecessor was busy fearmongering and giving Americans contradictory information, Cohen “was the face of [Democrat North Carolina] Gov. Roy Cooper’s administration’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, leading more than 100 press conferences to guide the state through weekly updates on the virus,” according to Axios.
In late October 2021, Cohen was telling North Carolina schools they must continue to force kids to wear masks because, at that time, there were too many children who had yet to receive the untested COVID-19 vaccine.

“For anyone who is unvaccinated, they need to be wearing masks,” Cohen said at the time. “Remember, we don’t even have vaccines yet for our 5- to 11-year-olds, and we’ve shown how few of our 12- to 17-year-olds are vaccinated. I think schools need to be keeping their mask mandates right now, that is not something to reconsider.”
It’s a stance worth remembering, should there be a “next pandemic.”
On Twitter, users were reminiscing about other memorable moments from Cohen’s past, like the time she gleefully described how “she and her colleagues came up with COVID mandates during her time as NC Health Director.”
“Probably the person I called most was the Secretary of Health and Human Services in Massachusetts,” Cohen said.
“She was like, ‘are you gonna let them have professional football?’ And I was like, ‘no.’ And she’s like, ‘OK neither are we,'” Cohen recalled, laughing.

It was, for some, a very revealing moment.
“This is evil,” stated the popular Twitter account, PoliMath. “The face of evil is giggling little girls pretending to be grown women plotting how to destroy the lives of others.”
