President Joe Biden walked out of the room where he gave his statement on the Russia/Ukraine conflict, without giving the reporters any chance to ask questions about the complex, evolving situation to the man who might know a thing or two.
While some in the media business might see this as a problematic pattern with Biden, intrepid journalist David Muir was quick to offer a somber explanation for the lack of answers.

“Given the gravity of the moment,” one would think that transparency, assurance, and strength would be what the world needs. Instead, what they got was a president who didn’t seem terribly interested in allowing reporters to dig deeper into his statements and plans.
Muir’s lukewarm guess as to the president’s behavior wasn’t well-received on Twitter:

If he was serious about it, you’d think he’d take questions. You know, show “leadership”, ease fears, etc. rather than allowing panic which we saw with the stock market tanking. Then he goes on and jokes about it in his green energy summit.
