Actress who criticized jab mandates now speaking out against society ‘villainizing masculinity’ in men

Actress Evangeline Lilly has some thoughts about society’s trendy push to reward feminine men and masculine women: Stop thinking you’re “revolutionary.”

In a lengthy Instagram post on Thursday, the “Lost” and “Ant-Man and The Wasp” star called out the hypocrisy of the woke movement and stressed the need for “grace and charity.”

“Why are we only applauding masculinity in women and villainizing it in men? And why are we only applauding femininity in men and debasing it in women?” Lilly wrote. “Why can’t we just allow for all of it?”

“Why do we feel the need to vilify a man wearing sh*t-kicker boots, driving a pick-up truck who’s not afraid to punch someone in the face, but if they were a woman, they would be the epitome of cool?” she continued. “Why is a man who loves make-up, cries easily and stays at home to tend to the domestic responsibilities valiant, but a woman who does the same is pathetic?”

Turning traditional gender roles upside-down is not “revolutionary,” she stated.

“I think the truly revolutionary act is as old as time: ‘Do not judge.’ – Jesus, Buddha, Lao Tzu, etc.,” Lilly said. “Let each be who they are and let us teach grace and charity above all things.”

“These overarching ideas are far simpler and more effective than trying to juggle the minutia of judgement,” she explained. “They are ideas that protect us all from the excesses of each persons vices while still allowing the expression of their self.”

Embracing a more genuinely non-judgemental view is not only easier than pointing fingers, she argued, but it’s also essential to a successful democracy.

“Grace and charity are cornerstones of a thriving society and should not be abandoned. We need them like we need democracy, justice and peace,” Lilly wrote. “And, without them, we can’t have democracy, justice or peace.”

It isn’t the first time Lilly has fearlessly gone against the Hollywood grain.

A Canadian, the actress was outspoken in opposition to her country’s COVID-19 vaccine mandates.

When she actively joined protests against Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in 2022, many expected her to be canceled, as so many before her were, Fox News Digital reported in February.

Surprisingly, according to Lilly, both Disney and Marvel — two notoriously woke companies — supported her in spite of her vaccine views.

“I’ve had direct conversations with them that I have instigated, and they’ve always said, ‘That’s not our business. That’s not for us to tell you how to live your life or what opinions to have,'” Lilly said at the time. “And I actually even got a really supportive phone call from Peyton Reed at one point and just saying like, ‘Just so you know, there’s some rumors spreading about Marvel ditching you or canceling you. And that didn’t come from Marvel and that didn’t come from us, so just ignore that.'”

In January 2022, Lilly ventured to Washington, D.C. to support the Canadian Freedom Convoy and “bodily sovereignty.”

“I was in DC this weekend to support bodily sovereignty while Canadian truckers were rallying for their cross-country, peaceful convoy in support of the same thing,” she wrote on Instagram. “I believe nobody should ever be forced to inject their body with anything, against their will, under threat of: violent attack, arrest or detention without trial, loss of employment, homelessness, starvation, loss of education, alienation from loved ones, excommunication from society… under any threat whatsoever.”

“This is not the way,” she said. “This is not safe. This is not healthy. This is not love. I understand the world is in fear, but I don’t believe that answering fear with force will fix our problems.”

“I was pro choice before COVID,” Lilly wrote, “and I am still pro choice today.”
