Adam Schiff’s rant against California town’s ‘ban’ on gay flags earns official fact check

Democrats continue to manipulate language to attack anyone who fails to fall in line with their identity class politics, which creates an entitled society that embraces victimhood over self-determination.

Case in point, U.S. Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., who employed divisive rhetoric to slam the Huntington Beach City Council for voting to only fly municipal, state, and federal flags outside City Hall, along with the POW/MIA flag.

The move was intended in the spirit of unity, as in one people, but Democrats like Schiff pounced to declare it an attack on the LGBTQ+ community, characterizing the action as “hate.”

“A conservative city council has banned the LGBTQ+ flag from government property in Huntington Beach. Another attempt to marginal LGBTQ+ individuals. But hate cannot be allowed to win. Not in California. Not anywhere,” Schiff tweeted.

The tweet was flagged with reader-added content, which read: “The city council voted to ONLY fly municipal/state/federal flags as well as the POW/MIA flag. No religious flags, no special interest group flags, etc.”

The 4-3 vote comes after a 6-0 vote in June 2021 to grant the LGBTQ+ community privileged treatment by allowing the Pride rainbow flag to be hoisted to recognize Pride Month — the make up of the council being altered after the midterm election to feature a conservative majority.

Among those who opposed the elimination of special treatment for the gay community was Braunwyn Windham-Burke, the first openly lesbian cast member of “The Real Housewives of Orange County” reality-TV show.

“Having a supportive community can make a kid feel more at home. A flag can save a child’s life,” Burke said at a city council meeting this week, according to CBS News.

Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story from Twitter that suggests people are growing weary of the divisive behavior on the left:
