With all the discussion of daycares, legitimate and otherwise, going on these days, Real Clear Investigations has uncovered a rather interesting bit of information.
Paul Perry, a senior reporter with the outlet, took to X to reveal his latest findings, but his scoop has nothing to do with questionable Somali-run daycares. In fact, it circles all the way back to January 6, 2021, and the killing of Ashli Babbitt.
Look:
NEW: Records show US Capitol Police Capt. Michael Byrd, who fatally shot unarmed J6 protester Ashli Babbitt w/o warning, has been running an unaccredited day-care center w/ wife Kaleska from their MD. home since 2008. MD. rec’s $190m in HHS day-care funds.https://t.co/Ly2JCVx966

“NEW: Records show US Capitol Police Capt. Michael Byrd, who fatally shot unarmed J6 protester Ashli Babbitt w/o warning, has been running an unaccredited day-care center w/ wife, Kaleska, from their MD. home since 2008. [Maryland receives] $190m in HHS day-care funds,” he wrote in his post.
Substacker Susan Daniels published an article on the matter on Sunday, adding some interesting context to the story.
From the piece:
Apparently, owning a day care is big business in Maryland, where Kaleska Byrd runs one out of their $600,000 — 3,500 sq. ft. house. Her husband, Michael Byrd, is infamous for murdering Ashli Babbitt, in the Capitol Building on January 6, 2021. At the time the government refused to identify him and stashed him and his dog for seven months in housing used only by high-ranking military.
…
There are seventy-three other day cares within five miles of their zip code, and only six of them are accredited.
How did the Byrds buy this house when he makes about $200,000 a year as a US Capitol Police Department Captain, filed for bankruptcy twice, and has owed the IRS $56,365.71 since 2019, which is when they bought the house. With penalties and interest, that debt should now be close to $100,000. Why hasn’t the IRS garnished his wages?
Kaleska Byrd ran a day care center since 2008 at their previous house, but the company was forfeited when she did not renew it in 2018 or pay $25. It now appears to have a new registration number, but the state record still shows the company as forfeited.

I can’t believe they keep spouting this nonsense about rules! Cnn was telling us FISA was strictly regulated and could never be used without good reason. They also told us illegals couldn’t vote or get welfare of any kind. They ignore the laws.

The daycare is unaccredited – that’s an issue even at zero received funds. If any funds were paid out there will be fines.
The daycare has zero ratings as of today suggesting that if it were ever open and any money changed hands, it was specifically a mechanism for fraud.

Am I the only guy in America who hasn’t been running a daycare this whole time?! 🤣

When I read this I thought it was a joke until I noticed that @paulsperry_ wrote it.
Stranger than fiction.
