An anti-Flock camera activist appeared at a city council hearing dressed as Darth Vader to mockingly argue in defense of the surveillance technology.
Flock cameras are public surveillance cameras that have been around since forever but are just now attracting massive negative attention due to a bipartisan, nationwide campaign of fearmongering.
Appearing before the San Diego City Council on Wednesday, a man dressed as the “Star Wars” character Darth Vader satirized the surveillance technology by explaining how it’s needed to take down Rebel fighters:

“The emperor is a fan of Flock, and we must continue utilizing Flock technologies so that we can follow and surveil the Rebel scum as they move from playground to playground, from playground to pool, from pool to gymnasium,” he sarcastically said.
“Because we all know that the Flock cameras are not only following the license plate readers, they are following children. They are following children in parks and gymnasiums, and we need this,” he added.
The man continued by first arguing that he personally needs Flock cameras to stalk his ex-girlfriend before moving on to storm drains and taxes.
“Also, it should be known that the people of this town, the poors that want their storm drains cleared, they should not have their storm drains cleared because in order to do that we will have to raise taxes,” he mockingly said.
Now remember, he was speaking sarcastically and saying the opposite of what he truly believes. Meaning he’s in fact pro-taxes, which strongly indicates that he’s a leftist. But there’s more. He’s also in favor of letting the homeless take over public spaces because not doing so would be to criminalize homelessness.
“You put a ban on camping, you made criminalizing homelessness illegal, and that is why there is no such thing as humanitarian policing for the homeless, because we have effectively criminalized homelessness, which is good,” he said to the San Diego County Council, chastising them for their tough policies.
And he’s also concerned about the rights of incarcerated thieves, rapists, child molesters, and murderers — which sounds about right for a leftist.
“Now we can staff, now we can fill our jails with free prison labor, especially like that of the Old Time Mason Detention Center, where they are making $1 a day for working for 12 hours, and there have been multiple cases of tuberculosis,” he told the council.
Conservatives should keep these sorts of views in mind before glomming onto the anti-Flock movement, because the truth is that it’s mainly being driven by leftists who don’t want criminals surveilled and held accountable.
One of the most prolific criminals in all of San Francisco tells @adam22 that “crime in San Francisco is over with” because of Flock cameras + drones. He complains that he can’t even do drivebys anymore.

Conservative commentator Matt Walsh recently explained this phenomenon.
“The people who enforced COVID lockdowns don’t actually care about your ‘privacy,’ Their sole objective — for some time now — has been to flood this country with criminals, particularly foreign criminals, in order to enact demographic replacement,” he wrote.
“They’ve turned California into a colony of Mexico that will never again elect another Republican, and they want to do the same thing to the rest of the country. Flock cameras stand in their way, which is why they oppose Flock cameras. It’s that simple,” he added.
But Walsh didn’t just automatically glom onto the pro-Flock side. Instead, he conducted a fair, deep-dive analysis into both the pros and cons of the technology. When speaking about the pros, he pointed out all of the crimes, some of them violent, that have been solved thanks to these cameras.
“Again, whatever you think of Flock cameras or the privacy implications, in these cases, the Flock cameras were clearly useful,” he said. “There’s just no getting around that. It’s a good thing — unambiguously — for murderers and illegal alien jewelry thieves to be in prison. We need to remove these people from society, and the cameras allow the authorities to do that.”
Of course, the guy who played Darth Vader would probably disagree.
