Country music ‘legends’ make surprise appearance in White House briefing room

Country music stars Luke Bryan and Jason Aldean stopped by the White House on Thursday for a little lighthearted fun ahead of their co-headlining “Double Down Tour” date at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C.

Bryan reportedly spent some time with Vice President J.D. Vance earlier in the day and was joined by Aldean for a visit to the White House briefing room.

“I think the screwworms are screwed,” Bryan replied jokingly when fielding a question about Texas agriculture. “We’ve immobilized sterile male flies.”

Aldean is a vocal, longtime supporter of President Donald Trump, but the visit was on a more personal, nonpolitical basis.

With press secretary Karoline Leavitt stepping down, the White House joked about the impromptu visit on social media, writing, “heard that there is an opening for Press Secretary.”

Bryan and Aldean have been close friends for over two decades, and share interests in hunting and supporting each other’s careers. They also have a co-ownership role in Buck Commander, a hunting and outdoor lifestyle franchise, along with Duck Dynasty’s Willie Robertson and former Major League Baseball players.
