Biden criticized for going shopping as Hamas still holds U.S. hostages

President Joe Biden angered critics Friday by going Black Friday shopping even as dozens of Americans remained hostage to Hamas.

“Biden went bargain-hunting after briefing the nation for 10 minutes on the hostage crisis — admitting he was unsure when jihadists will release up to nine American citizens believed to have been taken hostage during the Oct.7 attacks on southern Israel,” according to the New York Post.

“We don’t know when that will occur… It is my hope and expectation it will be soon,” the president said during the press conference.

Afterward, he, first lady Jill Biden, and his scandal-plagued youngest son, Hunter, all went shopping in Nantucket.

At one point, the president entered a bookstore and bought a book from a sycophantic reporter who last year called him “a transformational president who is recovering the traditional idea of American democracy.”

Meanwhile, though the president said nothing to the press, his wife told reporters that the family was “having a great time, thank you.”

The Bidens allegedly received cheers as they walked through Nantucket, according to the Associated Press.

“He was greeted throughout his walk by cheering crowds, shouts of ‘happy birthday’ (the president celebrated his 81st birthday on Monday) and people waving and taking photos of the first family,” the AP reported.

However, later Friday evening, the Biden family was heckled by pro-Palestinian protesters as the family stopped by Nantucket’s annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony.

“Biden, Biden, you can’t hide! We charge you with genocide!” a group of protesters chanted.

All this happened amid a hostage exchange between Israel and Hamas.

“Hamas on Friday released 24 hostages it held captive in Gaza for weeks, and Israel freed 39 Palestinians from prison in the first stage of a swap under a four-day cease-fire that offered a small glimmer of relief to both sides,” according to the AP.

“Israel — wrenched by the abduction of nearly 240 people in Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack that triggered the war — cheered as 13 Israeli women and children emerged free from Gaza. Most were in their 70s or 80s, and the youngest was a 2-year-old. Also released were 10 people from Thailand and one from the Philippines,” the AP reported.

For reasons that remain unclear, ZERO Americans made the cut. This in itself inspired massive outrage:

Coupled with Biden’s shopping extravaganza, the outrage ballooned.

“Biden must not like to talk about American hostages. So he doesn’t. Just like his handling of the border. No one mentions it, and when they do, they just lie,” one critic wrote.

“He is a terrible person. Everything that is wrong in the world has a link to him and his cronies. he is literally ruining the world,” another added.
