President Joe Biden is facing mounting criticism for flying to Ireland on a diplomatic mission with his youngest son, Hunter, and his sister, Valerie, in tow.
“President Biden took his embattled son, Hunter, and his sister and former campaign manager, Valerie Biden Owens, on his first presidential trip to Ireland Tuesday to help celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Good Friday Agreement,” Fox News reported Tuesday.
“The Bidens boarded Air Force One at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland and headed for the Northern Ireland capital of Belfast, where the president will embark on a four-day tour in an effort to ‘keep the peace’ in the region,” according to Fox News.

In fairness, a White House spokesperson claimed to the New York Post that Hunter and Valerie will “cover all additional personal expenses” that they incur.
Also, presidents and first ladies evidently have a history of flying overseas with their family members present.
“Historically, family members of Presidents and First Ladies have frequently joined them during international travel. Current practices are consistent with those used by prior Administrations,” the spokesperson added.
So what’s the problem? The problem is that his youngest son is currently being investigated by congressional Republicans over his shady overseas business dealings. Shady business dealings that the president’s own administration appears to be ignoring.
Plus, the visit to Ireland with Hunter in tow comes as several Democrat prosecutors across the states are targeting the president’s chief 2024 rival, former President Donald Trump, with investigations and potential prosecution.
Commenting on these points in a Twitter thread posted Tuesday, conservative radio show host Clay Travis noted that “[t]he arrogance” of the president is “extraordinary.”
“The FBI has had Hunter’s laptop since December of 2019, knows it’s entirely real and filled with a bevy of easily prosecutable crimes, yet they’ve done nothing for 3.5 years,” he tweeted.
“And Joe Biden knows the FBI agents are such his little bitches that he takes his felon son on a state visit. Just brazenness & lawlessness the likes of which I’m not sure has ever existed in any of our lives,” Travis added.
Look:
Joe Biden took Hunter Biden on his state visit to Ireland. If you wonder how broken our department of justice is, Biden is trying to put his chief political rival, Donald Trump, in jail and he’s simultaneously taking his multi-felon son on a state visit on the taxpayer dime.

Last year, the president’s sister released a memoir that conflicted with the White House’s ethics policy forbidding family members of the president from cashing in on their connection to him.
Moreover, in the book Owens gave a shout-out to her brother, the president, for “supplying the raw material” for her book

Making matters worse, the president reportedly refuses to hold a press briefing while in Ireland, meaning reporters won’t even have a chance to ask him about the obvious conflicts of interest.
“President Joe Biden will not hold a press conference while in Ireland, the White House confirmed Tuesday. … It is extremely common for U.S. presidents to hold joint press conferences when they are hosting or visiting a foreign head of state, but he will not do so during this week’s trip to Ireland,” Fox News confirmed.
“The announcement comes just one day after reporters blasted White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre for the president’s continuous refusal to take questions. It has been many months since Biden held a formal press conference, and reporters have questioned whether White House staff are intentionally protecting him from the press.”

Someone should keep an eye out for lucrative business deals and/or giant painting buys in the near future.
