Biden says US can’t ‘wall ourselves off’ as construction begins on WALL at his beach house

After more lip service about border security and a photo-op visit to El Paso earlier this week that will serve his reelection bid well, President Biden appeared to endorse the massive flow of humanity invading our southern border.

Speaking at a joint press conference alongside Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, Biden claimed the U.S. cannot “wall ourselves off” — the remark coming as taxpayer-funded construction on a wall around his Delaware vacation home is underway.

“There can no longer be any question, none, in today’s interconnected world – we cannot wall ourselves off from shared problems,” Biden said, before rambling on about all the work being done to address what he acknowledged to be an “unprecedented levels of migration — greater than any time in history.”

“We are stronger and better when we work together, the three of us, and together we’ve made enormous progress,” the U.S. president added.

Meanwhile, on the ground, the invasion on our border is showing no signs of slowing in 2023 after more than 5 million illegal immigrants crossed into the U.S. during Biden’s first two years in office.

While there was no mention of the rights of U.S. citizens, who bear the burden of such a massive influx of illegal immigrants, Biden did express concern for the “human rights” of foreign nationals seeking to break U.S. immigration laws.

“On my way here, I stopped in El Paso, Texas, to see the situation with my own eyes and to meet with U.S. border security officials. It’s putting real strain on the communities in both Mexico and the United States,” Biden said. “We’re working together to address this challenge in a way that upholds our nations’ laws and protects the human rights of migrants facing desperate circumstances.”

López Obrador praised Biden’s open-border policies and even thanked him for halting construction of the wall along the southern border.

“You are the first President of the United States in a very long time that has not built even one meter of wall,” López Obrador told Biden on Tuesday. “And we thank you for that, sir, although some might not like it, although the conservatives don’t like it.”

His country’s economy is largely dependent on the money being sent back by Mexicans abroad. Mexico received a record $51.6 billion in remittances in 2021 from citizens working abroad, a 27% increase over 2020, Bloomberg reported, citing central bank figures.

Even though Biden denounced walls, construction on the wall around his Rehoboth Beach home began last week, according to Fox News.

“The wall is expected to cost taxpayers $490,324 because it’s being funded through a government contract via the Department of Homeland Security,” the network reported, further noting that the barrier includes “tall white fencing and gray stone pillars on the side of Biden’s home, with a half-wall of gray stone and a large black iron gate at the front of the property.”
