The 2024 election could be the beginning of the end of the Democrat obsession with abortion and the party took a body blow when Florida voters rejected an amendment to enshrine the right to kill the unborn in the state’s constitution.
In an early sign that the night wasn’t going to turn out well for Kamala Harris who made abortion the centerpiece of her campaign, Amendment 4 failed to get the support needed to make abortion on demand a part of the Sunshine State’s constitution, falling short of the 60 percent threshold.
Also defeated by Florida voters was another amendment to legalize marijuana, something that Harris had pledged to do on a national level despite the adverse impact that it would have on young people to whom the devil weed is often a gateway to harder drugs.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis who opposed both amendments, announced that they had failed shortly after the polls closed on Tuesday night.

The amendment’s defeat was a crushing defeat for the party of baby killing which has turned to ballot measures as a way to circumvent the Supreme Court’s abortion of Roe v. Wade two years ago and Floridians are once again showing the nation how it’s done.
With abortion on demand having failed, Queen Harris is now on her way to the garbage can of history, America would be well served if the contentious issue that has become like a religious sacrament to Democrats could be defused as a political issue.
“The demise of pro-abortion Amendment 4 is a momentous victory for life in Florida and for our entire country,” said SBA Pro-Life America President Marjorie Dannenfelser in a comment provided to Fox News Digital. Â “Thanks to Gov. Ron DeSantis, when we wake up tomorrow, babies with beating hearts will still be protected in the free state of Florida.
“The law that safeguards more than 50,000 lives annually will remain. Florida is a beacon to the places in this country which still allow abortion after the point a baby can feel pain and the model for how the pro-life movement will win future ballot measure fights. In a world where the abortion lobby has a hold of our major institutions, every Republican should take note of the leadership and courage that Ron DeSantis exhibited to expose Big Abortion’s agenda and defeat life-ending amendments,” Dannenfelser added.
“The polls are closed in Florida and Amendment 3 and Amendment 4 both failed to pass,” former NFL coach Tony Dungy – a devout Christian – wrote on X. “Thank you to all the Florida residents who helped to protect the lives of the unborn. And we want people to realize that those expectant mothers who need help will still be able to get it. Pregnant women with health risks can get treatment. The exceptions for rape and incest are still in place. But this is a victory for babies.”

Others also cheered the amendment’s defeat.
Florida just became the first state in the nation to defeat an abortion initiative (Amendment 4) that would have led to taxpayer-funded abortion, abortion until birth, and beyond!

Amendment 4 would have guaranteed abortion through all 9 months in Florida. Amendment 3 would have allowed pervasive public weed use. Both FAILED. Praise!

Pro-abortion groups spent $120 MILLION to enshrine Amendment 4 and abortion on babies through all nine months into Florida’s constitution. They outspent pro-life 8:1 but they still FAILED.
Abortion is a human rights violation and Florida supports LIFE!

Although Florida beat back the Democrat amendments, voters in Arizona, Colorado, Maryland, and Montana passed abortion “rights” measures.
