‘Chuckmate’: Laughing Elon Musk taunts Twitter with memes after lawsuit threat

Elon Musk’s critics are quick to seize on opportunities to pan the world’s richest man, and the recent news that Musk was backing out on his $44 Billion deal to buy Twitter was no exception.

Musk’s attorneys say Twitter failed to comply with its obligations in the merger agreement. Under the terms of the agreement, Musk reportedly agreed to pay $1 billion if he backs out, but Twitter’s board chair Bret Taylor has indicated that they are committed to the original deal and will sue to hold him to it.

Then again, it’s possible that the Telsa CEO is just angling for a better price. At the center of the dispute are “fake or spam” accounts on Twitter, which would have an impact on the overall value of the social media platform.

Taking to the platform he may or may not end up owning at some point, Musk suggested that there may be a method to his apparent madness… at the very least, the billionaire made it clear that he’s not sweating the process.

Along with photos of Musk laughing were four captions: “They said I couldn’t buy Twitter; Then they wouldn’t disclose bot info; Now they want to force me to buy Twitter in court; Now they have to disclose bot info in court.”

As suggested in the meme above, Musk may get the information he says Twitter is not providing should they meet in court. Either way, his legal team says Twitter “made false and misleading representations” when Musk agreed to buy the company and has “breached” multiple provisions of their deal.

And while some have been quick to dump on Musk over the quagmire, perhaps they should have heeded his mother’s assessment of just how bright her son was.

“Well at 3, I knew he was a genius, but you still don’t know if he’s going to do great things,” Maye Musk said earlier this year. “Because many geniuses end up in a basement being a genius but not applying it.

She also tweeted this, “I found your computer aptitude test from when you were 17. If I remember correctly, they had to retest you because they had never seen such a high score. No wonder you are such a brilliant engineer. #ProudMom”

And what better way to cap it off than a Chuck Norris meme.

“Chuckmate,” Musk tweeted, along with a photo of the iconic actor and martial artist.
